reaction on untimely death of people

Just 2 days ago, media and TV announced the shooting to death of Motiong, Samar ex-mayor Constancio Pacanan Jr. in Mandaluyong. His death was untimely because he didn't die of any disease nor was he already old and weak, thus his demise was untimely not on time. He could still do positive things if alive. Regarding untimely or gruesome death of people, be it relative or not, what is your reaction? What about our general safety? of being gunned down in the night by masked men. Is your life safe in your house and environment? What about family? relatives? Can you post a sentence or two in reply this issue? Thanks!
