I like the Danish desserts, but I don't like the traditional main courses very much. I think that one of the problems about the Danish food is the lack of spicy dishes. The food is not spicy at all, and I really like spicy food. If I am going out for dinner I prefer to visit an Asian restaurant instead of one of the restaurants that serve Danish food. My friends think that I am strange, they love Danish food and they don't understand why I don't feel the same way.
I am not saying that I don't like it at all, but if I had the chance to choose between Asian food and food from my own country I would definitely choose Asian food. My husband and I sometimes joke about it and we agree that we want to hire an Indian chef and let him cook our meals if we ever get rich, because I love Indian food and I could eat it every day
What do you think about the local food from your country? Do you like it? If you had the chance to choose between your local food and international food what would you choose and why?

In France, and you can find spicy food in the Mediterranean and South-Western part. In fact there is a lot of variety, and I like local food, but I also go often in other restaurants, mainly North-African and Asian. I eat mainly French food at home, so I think I prefer local food, but I find the idea of an Indian chief attractive. If I was rich enough I would give it a trial.

I enjoyed the French food that I had when I visited France with my parents many years ago. It was quite funny sometimes because my father thought that he was very good at French and he tranlated the menu for us. Unfortunately he often misunderstood the words on the menu. One time he thought that he ordered beef, but when the waiter showed up with our plates we discovered that we had ordered pigs feet
I like North-African restaurants a lot. We have very few of them in my country, but I used to visit some North-African restaurants when I was living in Italy. The food was really delicious. Fortunately we have quite a lot of Asian restaurants in my country and I love to visit them. The Indian restaurant on the neighbour island is my favourite restaurant.

It the only time that I have eaten pig feet, and I don't plan on eating it again. It is one of the dishes that I didn't enjoy, but the most of the other food was nice. Before we ordered the food I asked my father what "pied" meant and he replied "it is some kind of beef" ....well, we soon discovered that it had nothing to do with beef I am not good at French but "pied de porc" is one of the words that I am not going to forget

In the UK our food is now very cosmopolitan - in our nearest city we have Thai, India,Japanese, Italian, Chinese,French as well as many traditional British restaurants; even in our small village the local pub is owned and run by a South African family and there are many South African foods on the menu. However British foods are also very tasty and very diverse.
I have only visited Denmark once and that was Copenhagen but I did enjoy the food we had there. I remember especially the hot pork sandwiches in Tivoli Gardens with a redcurrant jelly - they were delicious! And we did eat at a couple of Chinese restaurant's too however the food in our hotel was very good!

I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the food that you had in my country. The restaurants in the Tivoli gardens are quite famous, but many of the dishes are relatively expensive. I remember eating there with my parents in the past, but I haven't been there recently. I know that you have restaurants from many different countries in the UK, because my husband and I want to travel around in the UK one day and I visited some sites where I could read about the sights, hotels and restaurants. I was happy to find out that you had more international restaurants than we have, because I love to eat food from many different countries around the world. We will definately visit some of the international restauratns when we go to the UK.

I hope that you do get to visit the UK one day; parts of our country are very beautiful. Where I live is lovely I live in a little village outside of Lancaster - at my back gate I have the lovely Lancaster Canal and at my front gate the River Lune. From the front of my house I look out over the mountains and hills of the Lake District and at the back of my house I look out over the Forest of Bowland and Yorkshire Dales and the coast is only 15 minutes away from me - I think that I am very lucky!!
When you do visit the UK, especially if you are in the north of the country where I live - you MUST try some of our famous fish and chips with mushy peas - thy are delicious!!!

Porco, as for me i prefer Chinese cuisine since i grew-up eating them almost everyday. I felt they are very delicious and easy to prepare. I do like eating spicy food as well, as long it is not too spicy. In fact, i usually would buy the "roti canai", Indian bread for my breakfast, whenever i am not at home. Not forgetting, i like the taste of pizza as well. Now, i am waiting to taste your Danish food, when i have the chance to visit your country in future.

I will introduce to you some of our local dishes when you visit my country Our food is quite different from Chinese food, but it is a little hard to explain the differences, so I think it would be easier to let you taste it and experience it on your own I like to visit the Chinese restaurants on the neighbour island. My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary in a Chinese restaurant, and the food was really delicious. I wish we could afford to eat there more often, but we usually eat at home since we want to save up money for travelling.

I really love our local foods. However, there are many foods here in our country tht has been unfluenced already by the foreign food.
Sometimes, I got opportunity to taste international foods especially those served in the hotels, I found it interesting and some of them are really good but I will not replace it with our local foods.

I can see that you are from the Philippines. I have never had the chance to eat food from your country, but I would like to try some of the local dishes from the Philippines one day. In Denmark it is possible to buy food from other Asian countries like Thailand, China or India, but I have never seen a restaurant where you can buy food from the Philippines. I love to visit the international restaurants in my country, but it would be even more interesting to eat the local food when I visit another country. I look forward to trying some of your local food when I visit the Philippines in the future

Yeah, I'm here in the philippines. There are great dishes here according to their region. Each region have their own specialties. A friend of mine told me that when you go to the grocery and looks for Asian Foods, they usually serve Thai, Chinese or Indian foods. Philippines foods are not that usually served.
I hope you can taste the Philippine foods too even if you don't go here in our country at least you will find some Filipino friends in yours and maybe ask them to ccok Filipino dish for you. I know you will enjoy it.

What is your local food, I mean which country? It sounds great that you have access to so many different cuisines I want to eat Korean food one day. I have never had the chance to taste that, because there are no Korean restaurants in my country. I think that there are some Japanese restaurants in Copenhagen, but I haven't visited them yet.

I look forward to eating some of your tradtional food when I visit Vietnam. I might not like all of it, but I would still like to try some of different dishes at least once. We have a couple of Vietname restaurants in my country, but I think that it will be much more interesting to eat Vietmese food in Vietnam. I have never had the chance to eat Korean food, there are no Korean restaurants in my country and I have never been to Korea. I would like to eat some Korean dishes when one day, because I love to try the local food from many different countries around the world. Italian food is very nice. I often eat Italian food in my home.

I like a lot of American foods but i am more in love with Thai food and Japanese food. It is hard to find good Thai restaurants in the area that i live but 3 hours away from where i live is an AWESOME one and it is a treat when we go there cause we don't get there all the time! But for Japanese food there are quite a few great restaurants in the area that we go to all the time lol

I love Thai food, too. There used to me a great restaurant in the area where I live and when my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary we wanted to have dinner there, but when we tried to make a reservation we discovered that the restaurant didn't exist anymore. That was a disappointment, but we had a nice dinner in a Chinese restaurant instead. It is great that you have some Japanese restaurants in your area. There aren't any Japanese restaurants in my area, but I had the chance to eat Japanese food anyway because I have some Japanese friends who cooked for me.

I do like some specific Filipino food like pochero and kare-kare but I never do really enjoy pork recipes of whatever kind. But I love our native delicacies especially those made out of glutinous rice and coconut milk.
I like trying international cuisine. We do have an array of restaurants here that offer such. So far I think the worse is Arabic food. I really can't stand the pungent smell of curry. I can't also eat Indian food. But have tried Mexican and it's okay. Japanese food is not to my liking except for tempura which I think is good. I love most Chinese food. I think they have excellent sauces. Korean food is mostly sweet, even their veggie recipes have sweetness. So far my biggest favorites are Italian for I really love pasta, pizza. I do love salads as well but I don't know where this one originates.

Your local delicacies sound nice, I like rice and coconut milk. I like Indian and Arabic food, but I haven't had the chance to eat Arabic food very often. Some of the Mexican food is very spicy and I think that is one of the reasons why I like it. I have never had the chance to eat Korean food, but I would like to try it one day. Unfortunately there are no Korean restaurants in my country, so I would have to try it one day when I am abroad. Italian food is nice. I like pizza, pasta and lasagna. When I was living in Italy I often had dinner at my friend's house. His aunt cooked some very delicious Italian food, and there were always so much food. Now I am back in Denmark, but my husband and I often cook Italian food.

I like Indian dishes and spicy foods. Because I belong to this region. I don't find any taste in European foods. Because European dishes are only boiled and have no spice. Chinese dishes are also tasty. There are very little spice in Chinese dish. You can cook Danish dish with some spices. That will be your new innovation.

I think that Danish dishes with spices would be an improvement. Maybe I should experiment more with that. I have invented my own dishes in the past. Those dishes are more spicy than the dishes that you usually find in my country, and I like them very much. I understand why you prefer Indian food. I am a European, but I acutually think that Indian food is more delicious than the local food in my country. I love to eat at the Indian restaurants in my countries. Unfortunately they are not that cheap and I am not able to eat there that often. I love spicy food, but my friends don't share my love for spice food. When I cook spicy food for them they don't always eat it, because they think it is too spicy.

I don't know the documentary that you mentioned, but I will try to find it online. It could be interesting to learn more about the Chinese food. We have quite a lot of Chinese restaurants in my country and I have visited some of them. In May my husband and I had been married for 3 years and we celebrated our anniversary in a Chinese restaurant on the neighbour island. The food was very delicious and I ate too much They had two different buffets with different kinds of food, and free desserts were included in the menu. I want to go back to that place

I do see many international restraunts around and although I like to explore need to say when it comes to food what I ate as a child is best for me. Even the grocery stores have many variations of food from all around the world but some things just don't suit me. They may even be good for my health but I still prefer my home cooked foods.

I love to eat food from around the world and I wish that I could afford to visit the international restaurants more often. The local grocery stores in my country are different from the grocery stores in your country, because we aren't able to buy a lot of international food. I think that it is pity, because I love to experiment and try new things. At the moment to we stick to homecooked food most of the time, because it is cheaper than visiting the international restaurants. Fortunately my husband is a great cook and he cooks some nice dishes for us.
