I guess the FBI warning against this DNS changer virus wasn't enough, still many people's PCs infected with this malware. On the FBI website, you can download their software to prevent this malware widespread once you found out that you can't access the websites you used to go to. Also, facebook and other social network also warning people about it. Now, the best prevention against it is to download those anti - virus software either from microsoft maintenance sites, or from the government websites. I hope that they can capture those criminal rings as soon as possible, and make us browse the internet peacefully.

When I saw your post peter, I checked back the email I received and it was dated July 5, 2012. Funny that this issue has been on for over a year now and they have only warned us just a few days ago. Thanks for informing us.

Hello Guys,Can you name some Antivirus,Antimalware programs that can detect and kill DNS malware?.I currently have a licensed norton. When I visited the website,it was green. But it also said that, your ISP maybe redirecting you,and your systems still may have Virus. What does this mean. Can government computers in separate pvt network can get affected.I have also heard that malwarebytes and kasper antiroot kit can detect DNS,is it true.
Some says its a conspiracy, they want people to download their thing!!who knows?

Your norton is quite good enough! There are a lot of people who keep bringing up this topic again and again. It is a conspiracy, a hoax, absolute nonsense - call it what you want.
It is spread by idiots who cannot read and don't know what the original story was all about.
There is NOTHING to worry about!

What evidence do you have that people's computers are still infected?
Please give links to reliable sources.
I believe you should re-read the story from the start to understand what has actually happened and what the FBI and the courts have ruled.

For those who doesn't know what this DNS is base from what I read if you tried to browse the internet and you experience that the site could not be found but it doesn't says "404 not found" that means either you are infected nor the site were infected by the said virus you could not tell it because this DNS malware affects both your computer and your network provider.

I have been hearing about this DNS changer virus for quite a while now. I infact received an email from a telecommunication company informing their subscribers to beware of this virus. And I have already seen some topics here at mylot regarding this but honestly, I have not read any of them. I am not aware on how things are going now regarding this issue so I guess that I should read more now.

Well, this date 9th of July went ok for me, primarily because I was not connected to the internet through my home system. However, I think that some people would have had lots of trouble on this day. I also hope that people with malicious intent do not succeed in troubling people surfing online, and cutting off internet access.
