Okay, from what I notice, basically everything come with insurance. No matter you purchase a new cell phone, especially those smartphone, or iPhone on stores, or through your service providers, they want to sell you extra insurance with it. Not to mention TV, computer, or digital camera, etc..... In reality, house insurance, rental insurance, or car insurance, health insurance those are no - brainer. You definitely need them without a second thought. What about travel insurance and those extended warranty for your car when you purchase from your dealer, can they be skipped?

Car, House and if you are older than 30 then life insurance. Other insurances are a little bit too much. I have seen one insurance for mobile phones which is kind of silly in my opinion.

Except for the no-brainer insurances, others I will only buy if the thing that is insured is expensive and easily broken. I don't buy insurance for my TV, camera, hand phone and almost all electronic items. I am taking the chance that if I use them properly and carefully then these items will not be broken and can serve me we till the end of their useful lifespan. I am lucky so far and when any was broken, it usually meant that its time was up and I simply bought a newer model replacement.

I have to have car insurance to legally be on the road driving around. I need to have home insurance but didn't do so in my other homes that I have owned. The mortgage company says I must have home insurance. I always get travel insurance when I plan a trip overseas. It can be very expensive because my son is disabled. I have my washing machine insured and my television too.

You are right its a way to bring in extra money. I use to get it on everything now I don't bother. They would say this or that was covered and it wasn't. Certain insurance such as car insurance and house insurance is important here its actually law. Rental insurance isn't many say its not important until their apartment or house burn down and they have nothing. I knew a lady I use to work with who rented and had no insurance she walked out with nothing.
