I have posted quite a lot already and some of my posts are related to my life. Few posts of mine are even private and my secrets. Before, I considered mylot as my personal diary, well, I guess I am wrong since it is being read by the public. Whenever, I have worries, concerns, complains or even grudges, I jot it down here not thinking that someone I knew might read it and share it to others. Oh, my I know this too late but I can't refer mylot to one of my friends because I wrote something about her and I am afraid he/she might get the point that I was talking to her/him.
So, I have learned that I should be very careful of what I should write here or else I'm done! lol
Do you think first before writing anything special or personal???

Hi Tess! Well that is really the catch. We can't be sure who will be able to read our posts here in mylot. The thing is i think it is just about write for us to filter our discussions on what or what we cannot share in here. :D It is really up to us but then i guess if your friend is the nosey type and has a lot of time, for sure she will be able to dig up all your topics created. and Make out that you are indeed speaking of her. :D

Sometimes if we are carried away by our emotions we can persist but post something that in the end we will regret. But anyway, its just like being true also, but the only thing is we can please everybody, that is why we can get favorable or even unfavorable feedback from others.

this is the place where i can pour out my emotions whether positive or negative.
But I guess you have a point. Honesty is the best policy. I am not an outspoken person but if someone finds out what I have written here well i dont care. he he

Guess what my real name is not bluedoll and if I am going to talk about someone it is my neighbour who lives next door in North America. I guess some computer guru could find out who is who and where but why should they bother plus what gets written gets buried in a previous discussion under twenty others so who is going to go look? Given that I can write just about anything I want.

yes never write anything on the net that you do not want spread all over the net.sadly even without that warning I find my name all
over as I used the net to find the ancestors of my family tree. so be it. that cannot be helped at all.If one does anything on the net you will leave foot prints even if you do not want to.

To many users, this site is the place of great escape. Perhaps it is mine as well because here we can share so much things and as we get carried away we become care-free. This site has been home to many sad and happy hearts and to thoughts that wonder beyond the realms of everyday life. There are secrets that only this community know. So with all this, we ask ourselves do we continue to share or just type things with care, for when a day comes that a person we personally know might suddenly appear, we get scared that he/she might learn things here. Things you never wanted found out or things you only said because you were confident and without doubt.

I am quite impulsive by nature and I hardly think before posting anything. I just write out what is in my mind but there are a few posts I regret having made. If my friends see them it would not be too nice. You have given a very helpful suggestion- I ought to be careful before posting. Certainly things here can be read by everyone.

It is very true, what you write. I try to be neutral and don`t write some special or personal stuff here. Especially some personal data, it could be used very fast. You need to be carefull all over interenet not just here in MyLot. I hope you think now before you write :)

This is true for all times -- that one should think twice before talking something or writing about something/person. Words uttered cannot be taken back more so is with mylot whatever is written cannot be taken back.

I'm so sad and disappointed. I wish I could delete it but I can't. Well, what is done is done. No more regrets. I should learn from my mistakes.
Happy mylotting!

I never write too much about myself and I'm really conscious of my privacy. I's never write anything which makes people find me if they want to investigate. I only wrote about personal concerns once, but then later I told that person, because it wasn't anything bad I wrote :).

dear
i don't release as much as my life as a diary here at mylot but it is very personal.I have learned about online safety and even mylot which is very safe people can be very bad and release all the personal information. Before you post something thats private i would think about other public sites.would you post this information on facebook or twitter? would you be able to tell 10 random strangers on the street about this?if you said no to any of those things i don't think that you should post it on mylot.I compare facebook to mylot because both are public sites that anyone can do anything just if your asking.

Hi friend, i am also in your sort, always share most of my life and personal experience here, so only i am not interested in referring my known friends to this site, if they come to know that i am talking about them, surely our friendship will be in risk. We must think a lot before posting, if we share about our friends and other things, we must avoid referring friends to this site, surely they will take a look at our topics after joined here and come to know that we are talking about them and getting anger with it.

Thanks for the advice. You should not ever tell the internet about your life and secrets. if you really have to say or type it do it in a Diary where no one can read it. I usually express my opinion only through my knowledge and not by feelings because that way you will say what you need with proper explanation without getting too far.

Hi tess,
In my opinion one's private and secret matters should not be shared in any public platform. No matter how tempted you are to share your feelings at the point of writing you should be more careful and refrain from divulging such intimate and private stuff to the whole world. As you know once your secret is out you can never delete it. Even if you can get the admin to delete your post, someone may have seen it and has made a copy and may even post it elsewhere. Such is the danger and risk of public posting. So be very careful next time and think twice maybe three times before you post anything that you may regret later. Happy mylotting!

Hi
This kind of thing happen when we share problems or experience from our life. Well, I don't used to refer sites to my offline friends or family.. So I don't think I can face any problem like this. But surely mylot is the open place for everyone, and discussions and posts can be read by any, even by non members of mylot. So better we keep all these things in mind. Just need few caution and its all okay.

yup, anyone can read what we post here. So taking extra care of the stories or personal life we share here is our choice.
I have nothing to worry much coz I didn't write anything that I wouldn't want my friends to know. But still, I want my privacy..
Sometimes, I want to write too personal thing here but I always think that whatever I write here will be here forever. Whenever I make a discussion, I make sure that it is not too personal.

When it comes to the internet or social media. I'd like to separate fun and private. Anything private let it be private even if it's about my life. I do have my ups and downs, grudges and complains, but since it is easy being me because i'll easily forget about it and i end up making peace with it. I guess it is healthier that way. I used to have a diary when i was a teenager. Writing down things that happen in my daily lives. After a few months ( 6 months to be exact) i read back the things that happens and i realised there's more downs in that period of my life. Seems negative, so i decided to stop writing and just keep moving forward. Kinda like burning the bridges that might allow me to retreat. From that moment onward i refuse to remember all the bad things that happened. So as for mylot, i'd like to treat it as a place for me to mingle with everyone without being too personal.
