Hello Lotters,
I do remember some one said that No one can save him. simply because he's deteriorating and probably didn't retire. maybe he's death would have been earlier if he did retire.
so glad that I was able to watch one of the favorite series when I was a kid and that is "HOME ALONG the RILES" that's how i got to know Doplhy. then, in time I was able to watch some of his movies too. but I can tell he was really old.
unfortunately, there are those insensitive people, probably new generation of filipinos who are mocking and even betting when he will dieit was downright insulting. but i didn't care.
It's truly an end to an Era...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tewa84EuIhU
and he didn't even get the chance of being awarded national artist..
Good bye comedy king Dolphy.

He was the last one standing for me, the most veteran among all actors right now and his dying was really sad for all of us, but somehow he is in a better place now.

Hello Jazel_juan, Can you believe that? all of his friends especially panchito and Babalu who has hit the dust first. though i don't think he's that expressive but i believe he was feeling a bit lonely too with out the presence of his friends.well, he's happy in this better place he's in now. Have a nice day.

Anita Linda is older than Dolphy and her career is longer than him,she is acting since the 1940's. But I guess people dont mind her that much because she is only a character actress. I think Eddie garcia, Susan Roces, Eddie Gutierez and Gloria Romero who are all still alive are his batchmates. Dolphy though is the last comedian of his era and the Comedian with the longest career in our country by far.

I haven't heard of people who has placed a bet on this good man's health and life for that matter. May Karma serve them Right. I grew up with a lot of his movies, and tv series and i love watching Home Along. It was such a great series they weren't even able to create one that could compare to it.
It is really such a big loss. it was a very gloomy day, even the weather it seemed is mourning for the passing of our Comedy King. =(

I felt a deep sadness after hearing the news last night that he passed away already. I grew up with his movies. And until now I still watch his B&W movies. He's such a great actor. He really knew how to make people laugh. Dolphy will forever remain in our hearts.

That is life, even if he is gone but he's still lives on in our memory and all the things he did in the Philippines Movie Industry will always remain forever. Just ignore those mocking, those are kind of people who have poor values and also ignorant. I don't go down to their level of mentality for they are not worth of my time.
Doplhy The Comedy King we will miss you! May you rest in peace.

The Philippine cinema has again lost one of its forerunners. So sad. But the most so depressing to think is that he was not been declared as a National Artist...

Hello Aabuda, Well, It was about time anyways. the doctors said it was multiple organ failure and when that happens, i think there was no cure for it. he has done so much for all of us and now i believe we really need to give it a rest for him. besides, he can't live forever and he has lived his life to the fullest. Have a Nice day.

Yeah it is a sad event that we see him go but you are right about saying that it was just time that was waiting for him. I think it is his time to go and rest. I think that all his life he made it sure that he would be getting what he wanted and I think it was given to him. The fame, wealth and love just trickled in his favor. Although there has been kinks along the way but I think it was him that he was able to handle it well.
To the King of Philippine Comedy Farewell and I guess it is time for you to rest with your Creator.

The event is truly unfortunate but time is also getting to him. I'm glad I was able to see such a great person (who made everyone laugh) in the course of history and sad at the same time to see him go. I was among those fortunate people too who got to watch his show like Home along the riles when I was still a kid and his other movies. I got to say, he's one of the great actors in the course of Philippine history who can really act well. He will be remembered.

That is our childhood show the Home Along Da Riles every thursday night, which is I will never forget that and some of his movies too when I am watching it on TV. I don't remember any movie that I watched on cinema with Dolphy's involvement but yeah as I said only on TV.
In my case I just told the brother of my sister in law that I think anytime soon he will die because of the illness and because of the media attention. I mean there are times that I am predicting the possibilities, just like what happen to Cory Aquino it was like that too. Though I didn't ask anyone for bet as part of my respect to them. I just talked to them what I think.
In regards to Dolphy, honestly I don't feel sad for him because the first thing in my mind about him is that he already fulfilled and achieved his goal in life. He is lucky enough that he already determined his purpose on earth. Not all people are fortunate like Dolphy who worked hard then became successful actor. As for me it is now time to be with God that he is now resting in peace.

A sad story for all of us filipinos who got to know the king of comedy through his shows, me too have watched his comedy show Home Along the Riles when I was growing up and it is just really emotional to loose someone who has been a part of your life for most of your life, anyway to the king of comedy farewell and now you are in a much better place with most of the royalties of show business.

hi letran, dolphy is really the king of comedy and it is so sad to see him go. Well, these things do have to happen. I remember when I was still a kid, i had a home along da riles shirt. I still have it now :) I hope there are a lot of Filipinos that are willing to step up and also be a legend like dolphy.
