do you think cats are 2nd man's bestfriend next to dogs?

lezalga I think parrots are man's second best friend.I have pet parrot,its name is chinnu.Its very naughty,but I love it.It can call out the name of all the people in the house,when she sees them. Parrots have this incredible ability to imitate what we say,identify people and make sounds accordingly.But cats are cute,but can't talk like a parrot.Cat will try to eat parrots and small birds,but doesn't...so I don't like cats,even though they are cute.

I had a dog for nearly 20 years growing up. When I got married I got cat's. My cat's are just as much my friends as my dog was. Sat by me and on me, sleeps with me, hangs out with me, nuzzles licks and kisses me. They all do the same things, cat's and dogs. People who compare them need to find a hobby.

Hi lezalga, it depends on how the taste of the person in keeping pet. Most of the people around my place love to keep dog as their best friend. Yeah, like what someone says above they need dog to protect them as well as to look after their house. Dogs are very faithful to their master. No matter how they would never abandon their master and therefore they are always the best friend to man. I did keep cats and dogs before. Both of them are lovely. We don't have to take more care on dog. It won't poo and pee indoor. It would come back soon after it is released to relive itself outside the yard once or twice in a day May be I's not good in taking care of the kittens. They made non stop disgusting noise for the first few days after the born. It's awful that I had to clear the smelly dung every now and then as well Happy posting

I have both cats and dogs in my home. I love all of them like crazy! Yes, cats are the 2nd man's best friend. Dogs came to live at the side of man to serve him by protecting him from his enemies, help him hunt for food, help him with his work, and to offer comfort. Cat's came along and realized that man needed a friend to protect his food from mice and rats. Then cats learned that they could comfort man by laying in his lap and purring. Soon the cat extended his responsibilities by protecting man's babies from being bitten by rats or mice while they are in their crib. Cats would often curl up beside the baby's head and would purr the baby to sleep during the night. I couldn't ask for the seven best friends that I have right now. (Three dogs and four cats..plus I have four outside cats that keep mice, rats and ground squirrels under control.)

I have only had cats, never dogs, but I think you have it backwards. . .humans are cat's best friends! As most cat owners will agree, cats own their humans, not the other way around. We are very lucky that they allow us to feed them, care for them, play with them. . .and they reward us with the occasional display of affection. Cats remind us every day that is an honor to be allowed to serve them--and I, for one am very glad to be friends with my cats!

Yes, i agree as cat's are man's 2nd best friend. I have both Cat and dog as my pets. As dogs are our best friend it protects us and it serves for us. But cat is really amazing as it always play with us and it makes us happy when we are sad. If cat with us we can feel happy with their activities. They really makes us smile with their playing. I love then both.

I think they should be because both cats and dogs are wry comin household pets, but as far as I'm conserned I love my cats and my dogs equally.

I have only kept a dog as my pet for two years,i love it very much and regard it as my best friend.At the same time i wish i can keep a cat because i think a cat has its spirit and it's smart and cute.If only my parents allow me to keep a cat as my pet!
