For those of you who have already seen the new Spiderman movie, is it ok for kids aged 9-11? The Toby McGuire movies were really ok for kids, but this one looks deeper and darker, so I haven't taken my sons yet. Any opinion on whether it would be ok for them?

I think kids won't enjoy the latest Spiderman movie that much. One reason is that it is geared towrds adults more. Yes, I think the movie is deeper and a bit darker than the previous Tobey Mcguire movies. Also, there is more conversation and a lengthier dialogue for this movie. Actually, I was a bit bored in the start and middle of the movie.

I agree--I went to see it (to see if I could bring the kids) and I also found it kind of boring in parts. Too much talking for a kids' movie! And I didn't find the new Spidey to be as appealing as Tobey Maguire. Mostly, I walked away wondering why they bothered with a remake of the original instead of just continuing with the series?

I just asked my son. He just seen the movie yesterday. He says that it is a remake of the first movie of the Toby Maguire movies. I am really not too sure why they decided to give it another go?! He is 13 and he said the movie was completely appropriate for children between 9-11. He just said the new version has a lot more action and just a better storyline. But do remember, I am taking this advice from 13 year old! I have not personally seen the movie yet. Hope you enjoy the movie!!

Thanks! The advice of a 13-year-old is perfect . He would know whether it is ok for younger kids or not. (I know my 11-year-old will even critique a show for the benefit of the 9-year-old). Not sure why they re-made it, though. . .I thought the original was pretty good.
