So im playing on my computer. Windows has been pretty good but I hear a lot of people talking about Linux. Now I dont know much about them but I wouldnt mind a change. Is Linux worth getting rid of Windows?!?!?

For virus free and security purpose you can use linux otherwise use windows itself because it is most user friendly comparing with linux. If you want to work with linux you must know some commands in order to execute some commands with root permission. If you are unfamiliar with linux you can make a try by installing it on another partition of your hard disk. Since linux is an open source software and available for free you can try different flavours like fedora,centos,ubuntu,suse....

If you've meant about gaming then, windows is just perfect for that. One of the main advantages of using Linux is that, your system won't get infected by viruses. So most users use Linux for secure and risk free internet surfing and purposes but for gaming, it ain't a good choice at all as far as I know.

Im not too much of a gamer tho. I do play a couple on there like Halo but not a whole lot. Thanks for the word. Is it possible to run Windows and Linux on the same computer. Like have both installed and have it so when you turn on your computer you can choose what OS you want to use at that time.

Yeah you can do that. I prefer you to use Ubuntu. It's very user friendly (you can even try it out without installing it on your system) and easy to use. You can download Ubuntu for free from herehttp://www.ubuntu.com/download

I have been using linux for over 12 years and just love it. Yes maybe a learning curve but with ubuntu it is almost and user friendly as windows.. they have an update manager the make installing program on linux. there is a program call virual box and you can run window operating system through that.. you may think that defeats the purpose of just using windows. but we have netflix and I can not use that in linux. can use Amazon on linux. anyway if you want a change try linux.. and if you have any problems.. maybe I can help.
