Hi everyone,
Today I got a message from someone whose friendship request I had accepted yesterday. The message was promoting the site Just Been Paid and asking me to be his referral. But I have already signed up on this site through a Mylot task that I took a week ago.
Now this message gave me an idea. I have been looking for referrals for my sites but I never seem to think of a proper way to do it. I am a very poor referrer. After reading this message I wrote a message of my own with my referral link of a survey site and I sent it to 3 friends on my friend list. Now this site is best for US citizens and I have read very good reviews of it on Mylot too. Since I am from India, we do not get the business surveys so much here or else I could have cashed out sooner. I am waiting for the reply to my message hoping that those 3 friends respond but I was just wondering if I had done the right thing by sending a message with my referral link. I really would like to know what is the proper way to ask friends to be referrals?
What is the way you adopt to ask your friends to become your referrals? Will the offer of a referral exchange sound suitable?

If your friends are really friends then youwill know whether they are interested or not in joining other sites and you can safely ask them if youmay send them your links (as I described in my comment above).
Have you tried promoting your myLot profile outside myLot after placing all your banners in it first? That is what I have done and that way I don't have to send PMs here. I just promote it on other sites and get sign-ups that way.

hi oindy after seeing so many mylotters referrals not working at all, I have not been eager to try that and anyway I do well on my lot just doing my own things I do not want to depend on someone who may or may not do mylot at all. too many people come here, do not read the info and do not make anything as most of their posts get deleted. so I know I will not goof off and will follow the guidelines and the FAQ's too so do great as I am retired and have time to mylot a lot.Others can let you down bu t I will not let
myself down.

Hi! I presume we are meeting for the first time.May I call you aunt Hatley as I have seen some others doing? I have tried and failed to secure active referrals for Mylot. You have mentioned the reasons why they would not last. Many come here thinking they would make some great money without contributing quality stuff and so they are disappointed and leave. I wonder why they would not read the guidelines patiently. I started this discussion, however, keeping in mind a survey site that I wanted one or two referrals for. Though the site accepts international members, one of my friends from the US told me he is earning much more than me as he is getting a lot of extra bonus surveys along with the fixed ones daily. So I was desperately wanting to get a few sign ups from among friends here.

The responses received from a few member would have revealed that the problem is looked in two or three different angles. After establishing contact with a friend for a few weeks/months if you believe that the friend may not mistake then you can refer to them.
I do receive a few. I act on a few of them.

Hi
visavis,
Olleenz has recommended asking for referrals in the task section of Mylot. You would have noticed some task creators creating tasks under the Tasks tab. But that requires an investment of about 10$ and as far as I know my country is not allowed to purchase anything using Paypal funds. In fact we cannot even keep the money stored in our Paypal. It gets automatically withdrawn to our bank accounts attached to Paypal.

This is funny since only today I publish an article in Triond about how people searching for referrals in the wrong ways & wrongs places, and I also published an article about the right way to find referrals on Expertscolumn :)
In short: just sending your referral link anywhere (like most people do0 - will get you nowhere. You need to locate people that are really interested in those things and offer it to them.
Here is a good way (or so I think):
Put a banner to this site of your in your profile. Register to the interest "make extra money" on mylot. Now, when people ask about legit website - send them to your profile. This way people that are actually looking for it will be exposed to your referral link & you will get good referrals that will actually help you gain some extra money yourself :)

True, most people won't register under you, also most people that will register will stop "working" after a week. finding good referral is hard. I have moderate success in it, so I allow myself to say - t is hard, yet possible.
About the links - no I just published it today so I didn't post it in the group yet. If you want - PM me & I'll send you the links.

Well you can talk to them or email them in facebook. Friends are one of the easiest ways to find referrals.

There is the danger of being called a spammer. That is a problem indeed. Moreover I tried today to talk to two friends at Facebook and asked them to sign up on a GPT site where I had got paid instantly. However, no one signed up. So I am not sure that this method works.

If you are only asking your friends, i think there is no danger of being called a spammer. Just show them your referral link and when they signup, they will your referral.

I don't see nothing wrong with asking someone to be a referral. But, on the other hand, I don't like to force anyone to join my site if I joined theirs. I believe that the person has to join the site if one, they have not already joined, and two, only if they find it interesting or an asset to them. I give my link, and I leave it up to the person to join. I never pressure anyone.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that as long as you ask in a proper way and you explain your friend what is the site about. One of my friend asked me to be a referral and as I trust my friend I forgot to ask the detail about the site. But I got little bit upset because after I joined then I found out that the site spammed me with emails. So, make sure you mention the detail like this to your friend when you ask them to be your referral.
I got most of my referral through task, never try ask my online friends before but I think it's such a good idea. Thanks for the insight. I will give it a shot.
