At what age do you think it is appropriate for someone to start drinking coffee?

I would say a kid could drink a limit amount of coffee at 13 or 14. Any younger than that is too young. I see a lot of young kids drinking energy drinks like red bull that look like they are only 8 or 9 years old. I think that stuff is way worse than coffee!!

I agree! Energy drinks have so many nasty ingredients. I don't see why people want to put them inside them. At least that's how I view it.

I don't think that is a certain age, that depends of how coffee affects your body. I mean, there are persons who drink coffee in the afternoon and can't sleep after, others persons the coffee (me!) just don't have the same effect. If I was a parent, I would not give coffee to my kid, just because I don't see the need, but if my kids would like to drink, I would let it.

When I was younger I can remember taking a few gulps of my mums tea, as well as coffee.I feel that young children should not drink it, or people that suffer with things like adhd, as this gives them a burst of energy.
I was a tea drinker when I was 14 years old and as soon as I hit 16 years old I prefered coffee, now I never drink tea at all.

When I was younger I would take sips of my mom's coffee. Lol. I think a good age for coffee for my own children would be a young adult. It's not the greatest thing for us just like so many things. I was 17 when my mother finally allowed me to have one cup with breakfast each morning. I was thrilled since I loved it so much! =)
