Spending Time Catching Up At Reunions

For me, I am referring to my 30 yr. Class reunion that I just attended. It was a really nice experience, and really Glad that I took the time to go. It gave me a chance to catch up with people I had not seen in a long time, and find out who is doing what, and who really wants to still keep in contact even after all these yrs. It is amazing to see how many people still almost look the same. Yes, a little gray hair here and there, and some who weigh quite a bit more than they did back in the day, but there are still many who seriously still look good, and that was quite interesting. There are some just from looking at them you could tell it was still them, and some I would have never recognized without name tags on. The most interesting part of the whole thing was someone that I knew fairly well back when I was in school is now a millionaire, and has not had to work since he was like 45. All because he won the Mega millions Jackpot a couple of yrs. back and has learned how to invest it wisely. He and his wife are not the type to flaunt their money either and looked just the same like you and me. For me, it was an awesome time, and so Glad that I went. This was a chance of a life time, and even with all the mishaps we had to go to get there, I am so Glad I went. Not sure how many will really choose to continue to want to keep in touch, but it was Fun. Have you ever been to a Class Reunion or reunion for that matter and glad you went and still hearing from some of them yet today? ~~TINA~~

I never went to a class reunion, I don't think I would remember anyone any how. It was a big school and ethic groups stuck together.

Well I just read where you went to a picnic... I hope it was worth it. Even though there will be some I will not really ever hear from much it was worth it for me.

Well going to a picnic and being able to see people is always good. And if you would not relate with anyone from High School then not going is always a choice. My husband went to one of his, and swears it was not worth it, so maybe you not going is a Good thing.

Yes it was, all the people in our community was at that picnic, that was for my elementary school. But I would never go to my high school reunion because there would be nobody there that I know.

This coming July, we will be celebrating our 25th High School Reunion. This has been prepared since over a year ago. There had been a lot of drama along the way, but now that it has been settled, I am excited to see all of them again. It would be extra special coz one of my closest friends will be coming home from the US to spend time with us here.

I am hoping that it would be really one fun night without any "untoward incidents". With the gap growing between some batchmates, I fear that something just might come up on that night. I hope not.

I have gone to every reunion and really had a good time at each one. My next reunion will be number 50 and I am already excited about going. Many people have changed, some drastically. Would have to say the females have aged well. I do keep in touch with some of my classmates. Our class had 1,000 graduates the year I graduated. We have lost a few the past couple of years but the majority of us are still alive and kicking. Nice to hear you enjoyed your reunion.

Wow!! Getting ready to attend a 50th? That is good that most of your classmates are still alive. 1000 is more than attended the High School I graduated from. It was Fun times, and I wonder how many will choose to want to keep in contact from here until chance to meet up again.

I went to my 40th last year. **yawn** I think the best one I went to was the 10th for the class of '72. They did a whole school reunion, managed to get on the campus of the old school (boy did it look small!) That was a lot of fun since I had friends both in the classes above and below my grade! Considering that the whole school was only around 500 considering the 5 years it was "Holy Cross" and only about a third showed up, it was a great get together!

That would be interesting. Actually having the reunion at the School. I am sure that helped put things more into respective and Glad you are were you are at now, more than what you were then. I know like for me, there are a lot of people who did not make it this time, it was interesting and exciting to know some of us will really continue to keep in touch.

actually, thinking about it, I think it might've been the 20th for the class of 72, still, it was fun.

Oh, I dread the thought! I have never attented a class reunion and probably never will. I felt like such an outcast when I was in high school and have no desire to ever go back or see most of the people that I attended school with. I just can't go back.

Yes it is interesting and some of the people I seen I was not that close with and did not remember as well as some of the others but the ones I do want to continue to keep in contact with who I was good friends with, it was worth it.

I have never been to a class reunion but I bet it is great seeing everyone again. It could be amazing to see where everyone went and what they had been doing with themselves. When we are in school, that world is often all there is to us where a world is concerned. After that it all opens up. Glad you had a good time and staying in touch with some of them.

It was quite interesting seeing everyone and getting a chance to reconnect with everyone. Got to see and talk with people I was very close friends with and those I just knew but was never really close. It also gave me a chance just to see how many have changed or not and what they all are up to know.

Last year they held our 35th class reunion. I decided not to go. I had attended a couple of them and really didn't get a whole lot out of the experience. The people that I graduated with had become strangers. I really don't feel you need to spend a lot of money to sit and chat with people you hardly knew back in high school and certainly wouldn't know now. But, then again, I may decide to go to the next one. Time will tell.

I was wanting to go just to really see how many people I really knew, and how many I would be able to connect with and want to really still be friends with. It was quite interesting to see some of the people who were there, and who I was glad to see, but also quite interesting to see some of the others just as well.

Yes, I can understand exactly what you mean here Tina.. 3 years ago I went to a class reunion and then again on the following year. The first year was best as most of the class was there. All of us now in our 60s we were just 11 years old at that time. Even our teacher was there as we were our first class after she qualified. I recognized so many people who had hardly changed, where some had changed considerably. There wasn't a reunion last year though, but I am pleased that I attended the first reunion. _Derek

This would be cool. Having one of the teachers there as well. It would be interesting to see what some of my teachers looked like if they are all still alive. We even teased one person at the reunion about one of the teachers, as she always had a Crush on him.

That was really fun and I can't help myself tried to imagine if one of these days our Class Reunion would materialize and invite me to attend... Thirty years behind has a lot of changes if you compare it today. Honestly I am hesitant of attending our class reunion because I couldn't help my self comparing my present status to some of my classmates before that has gain a lot in their lives. I feel pity on my self if that would come. This is the reason why I would never attend class reunions always. I hate to do this but I just can't. When I happened to see some of their pictures my classmates were so happy and they had really fun. Well, I was not the only one on this reason why I would never attend - there are also some of my classmates would never go whenever there would be a schedule of class reunion because we have same reason... Nice day ahead my friend.. Mobhomeir here 071212 1109hrs

Well, it was quite interesting seeing a lot of them, and most of us really never talked about what we are doing for a living now. I know one of my classmates has won Mega millions, one works with Loans for houses, and another one who has a thriving Family owned business. Personally most of us were there just to have Fun and reunite. It was Fun, and really glad I took the time and money to go.

My mother in law is going to be attending her class reunion next month. It is a two day event and she will be staying with us while she is in for the week. This will be her 50th reunion and I know she is looking forward to it. She is pretty excited because her and a few of her friends are the ones who are doing the decorations and locations dinner for it so she has been planning for months now to prepare. I haven't been to a reunion yet myself we didn't do a 10 years and I still have a few plus years before we would be at the 20 year mark but yes I agree that it would be a good time to see where life has taken everyone and how handsome we all turned out. Haha!!! I am glad you were able to attend yours and have a good time!

Wow!! 50 yrs. That is a long time, and if there are still people she can relate with that is even better. It was Sad even at mine seeing the names of some of the people who have passed, and one or two that I was even good friends with.

hello Tina, I always missed our reunion, but I was given the chance to met old friends and classmates after 30 years. Yes, there's no much changes with physical looks aside from little sign of aging- hehehe. I hope I can make it this coming December for our Grand Alumni :)

Yes, it is interesting seeing people after all these yrs. There were some I would recognize right off, and others I would have never guessed that it was them. Then there were those I had reaquainted myself with prior due to Facebook so that was a help. It was quite interesting seeing everyone again and wonder how many I will really hear from much.

Yes, there will always be people there that you knew you did not really care what ever happens to them, and then there are those you are Glad you see. I think what made it so interesting with mine, is that most of the people that attended I knew since 3rd grade, and it was a smaller class so that was an added plus for sure.

I am actually looking forward for our 25th Class Reunion next year. However, some of my batchmates are having issues with the venue, the amount of money to raise and a lot more. It has really gotten to the point wherein one of my classmates asked if we could vote for a new committee. Ofcourse, this irked one of the committee heads that lead to leaving the Facebook group for our batch. We just all want to make it special and a lot of our classmates who are now residing in the US are planning to come to celebrate with us. I just hope that despite the indifference, we would still have a very memorable reunion.
