How do you start Online Business?

In order for a business to be successful you have to like what you are doing. So the first thing to do is ask yourself "WHAT DO I WANT". Believe me if you start a business just because it's lucrative and has nothing to do with what you really want that business will eventually suffer, including you. I've done that a lot of times, when water stations were booming - I started one then close after several months.(other examples: food cart business, market stall or tiangge, etc.) It is also evident that people who are in the business that are related to what they want, their advocacy, hobbies, interests - they are the ones that end up being successful. Just my two-cents.. ^_^

I started an Ebay business, I basically buy from a website called iHerb where they sell things up to 70% off retail price and I sell then on Ebay UK for double money, some people are doing this and they are doing fine. I think you must start from a dropshipper. You must try selling in ebay or amazon.

I have the same concern as gmwalterhouse. I may be knowledgeable in the field of computers but a big chunk of what I know is purely technical. I haven't really given enough consideration to this field of Online Business until only now that I feel so exhausted working traditionally that I wanna stay home. Given the responses above, I am now convinced that this is a dynamic, encompassing field that should really merit my attention, time and effort. You guys out there will be my mentors and inspiration!

I certainly agree that you need to determine the product or service you want to market. Per my learning in salesmanship, a good salesman/businessman should know your product, company and its market.
