Why there are TV Stations that has long commercials others are lesser?

I seldom watch television, I could only watch whenever there are scheduled good shows that I love to watch. What so frustrating is television commercials are so long (their time exposure) that I would have to wait more time than watching the main show.
There were times I fall asleep while waiting due to long commercial. But, there were television station that has lesser commercial and yet they have a good shows. How this is happen? Is this all depends on the director, producer or someone else from the television admin?
Do you have knowledge of how television arrange their sponsors?

it is your television or cable company that decides on the commercials, they are paid by the people who make the commercials to air them.

that is exactly what I said. The cable or local TV companies choose which commercials they will broadcast.

Movie stations have long commercials because this is how they earn money. Through endorsements, endorsements in television cost a lot so in return the TV station do there part.

Yes my friend..this is where they get big money..the more commercials and adverts more would be on their pocket..they never care the movie goers of the annoyance of having long commercials and adverts...anyway we have to mind our own concern...thanks for your respond...

i guess it depends on the length of the tv show. i always mute the commercials and either get up and walk around or read a book. i hate commercials, especially the channels that keep repeating the same ones over and over again! ok! we got it the first time, you don;t have to keep repeating them!!

you're right my friend, and it would be so frustrating. I observed some tv watchers, they would just jumped to another channel and back again estimating those lone lines of commercial are already gone...thanks for responding my friend..

Most free channel televisions rely always on sponsor for their survival. Without these commercials, definitely they cannot survive. This is the reason why we see them on television. The commercials also are placed on certain time slot wherein the company paying the commercial decides when it should be aired. That is why when the television network airs a good movie, or usually during prime time where most viewers are watching, then most likely commercials are plenty.

I think you're right my friend...in fact some companies would first conduct survey on what's the highest ratings before deciding where they plug their products...thanks for your share...

I watch television at all hours of the day or night. I have found that prime time seems to have less commercials. Late night on some channels they have about four minutes of a program and then ten minutes of commercials. Or that is what it seems like anyway. I usually don't pay any attention and am checking for something else to watch and program in or I will flip to another channel. I remember I used to get so upset with my ex when he would flip to some other channel and now I realize why. It is so frustrating!

I think it depends on the budget of the show.. reruns only have less commercials since they are reruns. 
But the main shows and famous ones usually have long ones.. which is why i prefer t buy dvds and watch them straight without commercials.

You have an idea on that my friend...yes one of the best to solve it is not to watch anymore television with lots of commercials instead buy dvd am sure you will enjoy the show without a single interruption...thanks for responding..

hi,
i also noticed that especially if the movie are really interesting and many people watch it,the commercial usually longer rather than other network but i understand that because many endorsers sponsor that movie or that program.actually i dont have any idea how television arrange their sponsors.
