So I recently bought a new car a month ago and it has already began to become a burden! I have almost over 1000 dollars of work needed to get this car fixed and its only old used car so thats almost 1/3 of the price I payed for the car. Im starting to wonder if getting the work done is even worth it and if I should just try to sell this car. It sucks because this was my first car and I was excited to take it back to campus with me.

I guess it's too late to not want the car now since you have already paid for it. I think the best thing you could do now is to send your car to a reliable mechanic for a thorough check and get a quotation. If it turns out that major work needs to be done then I guess you can sell it off at a loss and look for another car.

Honestly you may be able to get more out of it if you were to scrap the car for parts. What I mean by that is to take and sell each part individually. It may be time consuming to do this but you may be able to get more then if you were to just sale it. Then save up some more and get a little bit of a better car for your money.

Try checking craigslist, there should be a cheap mechanic in your area.
