GOP nominee Mitt Romney who honored the NAACP in Houston with his presence was booed silly. While the governor was booed for opposing Obamacare (aka revised Romneycare) and VoterID Law, the governor received standing ovation for supporting traditional marriage from attendees of NAACP's 103rd Annual Convention in Space City - http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/07/11/romney-to-make-pitch-to-black-voters-at-naacp/
Romney thanked his father for instilling faith in God in him: "HIS justice is certain and HIS mercy endureth forever."
When talking on Faith, Mitt Romney said "this spirit has carried the NAACP to many victories, and many more to come."
I thought it was mighty nice and brave of GOP nominee, Mitt Romney, to have attended the NAACP Convention and share his views, while extending a hand of friendship to the NAACP. I am of the opinion that it takes a person of character to stand in front of opposition and express his/her opposing views unafraid. Whatever some may say, I applaud Mitt Romney for taking the time to make appearance at the NAACP's 103rd Annual Convention!

I hope the members of the NAACP will weigh what Romney said against the past three plus years of the Obama administration.

Well, everyone is thinking and weighing, I hope. 'Twas on an overall, a good convention.

Do you know that the NAACP was started by Republicans? Just thought I'd throw that into the mix.
He does need to be applauded for speaking the truth. For not fitting his speech to the audiance like Obama does. And it should be noted as well, that OBAMA, who thinks he has the black vote in his hip pocket, didn't show up to speak, but sent a dumb white guy who drinks to much to talk to them about HIS plan. There are many blacks who are waking up. There support of the ACA may have led to him getting booed on that issue, but they most definately do not like the idea of traditional marriage being thrown out either. I guess it's a toss up on which issue they will base their votes on. A liar who is rumored to have had gay affairs, or a white guy who wants to repeal socialized medicine and find some real answers to the healthcare issue.

Well, I guess that is why Joe Biden reminded NAACP that it "ain't your father's Republican party."

I think the man was truly extending a hand of friendship. I guess our bloody and nasty past will never disappear.

Well that seems like totally adult and intelligent behavior (said sarcastically).. Makes me think of kids in junior high. I agree with others in their thinking that Romney is certainlhy not scared of the opinion of the NAACP

He was brave and honest. The NAACP would have wanted him to kowtow and bow to them and apologize profusely for the ills, just as Obama did to the Islam leaders and the King of Saudi Arabia. They booed because they wanted hand outs, and money poured into their districts without accountability. And they wanted him to keep quiet and let them tell him what to do. And yet they were and are willing for Obama to tell them what to do. Hypocrits.

Mitt Romney was booed more for critizing Obamacare and talking about VoterID Law. I believe those who booed Romney because of Obamacare know not history; else they, too, like me would have enjoyed a laugh. You see, Obamacare is in fact Romneycare revised.
And as per VoterID, I do not understand why voter registration card would be issued to people without some valid recognized ID. Besides, voter card is accepted as valid ID in US. I am sure people would not be required to show ID during voting if they showed an ID when obtaining a voter registration card.

Romney should be applauded for his honesty. Most politicians change their speech to fit their audience, saying one thing for one group and saying something else for another group the next day. Romney knew that the members of the NAACP would not like his comments about Obamacare but he said them anyway. Whether you agree with Romney's policies or not, he should be respected for actually saying what he believed, knowing in advance that it would gain him no votes.

As already said, I like people who can express opinions in the open fearless.
