Many American lawmakers are upset to learn what American athletes will wear on London Olympics. The outfits - which cost close to $2,000 (£1,300) - were designed by US label Ralph Lauren. The classic navy blue blazers, white trousers and skirts, and red-accented ties and berets may have a distinctly American look, but the label inside reads "Made in China". Some were suggesting to burn the uniforms and make a new one that's authentically american made. Do you think lawmakers have a point on this? Should athletes wear uniform made in their own country?

yes I agree with you, athletes wear uniform should be made in their own country. But I think what the lawmakers suggest to burn the uniforms is a great waste cause those outfits can be used in another field.

definitely! It would be a waste of money if they will burn it. If they are having a cost cutting, then they should accept the fact.

Burning the clothes will not help anyone or anything, much less their agenda. if they want to show nationalism or patriotism, they should have considered the matter where they will be made in the first place. It is quite immature move, if you ask me. If they are sticking with the uniforms, they should concentrate more in the performance of the athletes rather than what they are wearing. Olympics is a place for athletic performance and excellence, to a red carpet premiere where everybody gets asked who wore whose designs. Or perhaps they should keep in mind that the clothes does nothing for the athletes except for giving modest coverage.

i think that it really depends on them. for me, if the country is rich then why not make the uniforms in their own country and not from another but then if the country somehow could not afford it then they can have it made from another. but i do think it will be a greater pride if it was made from their own land.

That is already given..Most american brands have factories overseas like China. It is cheaper for them to employ the workforce of china because of cheap labor. I think it is no surprise already. With all countries cutting on costs, companies would always find ways to cut on cost.
