Reading the Bible every day...

There are differente ways to read: - Reading the book from the beginning to the end, passing pages, to know what's the content about; - Reading with "attention", that means reading slowlier than usual, to learn something from the context of the book. When I read the Bible, I always try to learn at least one point which I may apply in my daily life. Do you read the Holy Scriptures every day? What's your way to do it?

I read the Bible every day. My son and I also do a Bible Study every night. We also have our Bible Study at church, right now we are doing a study on Romans so I do some studying for that each day. Seems like I'm pretty much in the Word all day long....

For some years, I have made it a yearly practice to read through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. This requires that I read on the average about 4 pages daily. I find reading the Bible this way easier. It is the way it is compiled and it is the way that I will continue to read it. However, the important thing is that we read the Bible every day and one can read it as to the best way that suits them. Here are a few verse that encourage daily Bible reading: Psalm 1:1-3 KJV) Blessed is the man ... his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. ... and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Matthew 4:4 (GNT) Human beings cannot live on bread alone, but need every word that God speaks.

ForSouls1234... Sorry that you cannot eat most breads. Have you tried bread without yeast? Sometimes, one may have allergies to what is not a problem for many other people. Thankfully there are many other things we can eat. Another meaning for the word bread in the Bible, at times,is any physical food.

Matthew 4:4 is a great text, when Jesus were on earth as human, He gave us many important and interesting advices, like the mentioned and also the following one: Matthew 5:3 (GW): "Blessed are those who recognize they are spiritually helpless. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them." We need the knowledge as we need to eat or breath.

Apparently this human being cannot even live on bread. As I get horrible yeast infections. Can't eat a single thing with yeast in it. Bread is the staff of life my foot ha ha.

Reading the Bible alone is not sufficient for us to learn a good life. It is good that you read the bible because it leads you to life if you found the right path the bible said. Our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Apostle teach that bible is a good to life. They also teach us on what to do to be saved on judgement day. Where we go to belong and be God son and daughter. Our Lord Jesus Christ, established a church where people need to belong and be saved. The apostle also reiterated that to save must belong to the church that Christ establish and even the catholic church said it into their books...and even the protestant prove it. So, reading the bible will be a wake up on us to know the truth. I appreciate you in your habit, my friend. People nowadays are busy to their respective jobs...

What do you mean by that, friend. I don't get what is your point here. Didn't you read the bible because your believe in Christ, that he is the one who gave his life to save his people?

We never should be too busy to remember our origin, where we come from and why we are here. It's a pity that so many people miss this point.

I've attempted to read it from the beginning a few times when I was bored in hotels and couldn't sleep. It was great because after a page or two I would fall right asleep But I must admit I was reading the boring part of "this person is the sone of that person who was the son of that other person" etc. I know some of the stories of course but I can't say I've really read through it or have an interest to do so. However people quoting good sentences from the bible I don't mind because there are a few good things in there

Or maybe she found it strange because you usually find them already in hotel rooms, unless yours didn't have one

Ha ha cheetah nice. The lady looked strange? Or did you maybe just want her to give you a strange look because you were hoping she noticed you were buying the bible so that you could feel good about yourself? It sounds to me like that made you feel a tad superior if I may? No? How do you know she never reads it? See, this is the kind of thing that I'm talking about Cheetah, the ones who put themselves above others just for reading this book. It couldn't have been better written as an example. So correct me if I am wrong. Why would you think the look was strange and why would you think she "never reads it." And so what if she doesn't? What does that mean? That you are better than her? Here are two things in your mind only.

Yeah well I think my reason might have been the cause. I might have given a strange look if I knew this person was staying in a hotel that has a copy and wonder why they'd spend money. I never thought of those points either I think some people would think they are more superior and are going to heaven for reading the bible but I mean really they don't realise that it's their actions in life that defines them and determines if they are a good person not for reading the bible

Yes, I do read Bible everyday. As well as bible based book and magazine. There are many reason why we should spend time in reading and of course meditating Gods word.It is very beneficial cos it contains valuable and practical guidance for all.The bible book of 1 Timothy 3:16,17 says that "all scripture is inspired of God and benificial for teaching, reproving, correcting, training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for good work.".Added to that, Matthew 5:3 also says "Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the Kingdom of the heavens belongs to them." So, if we ponder on it, its Gods way of talking to people. He wants us to be guided and be saved. He wants us to be happy. Therefore, there is no reason that we wont study it,even making some excuses not to read it cos it saves Life.^____^

I read the Bible every day, or almost every day. If I forget, I most times read something from it before going to sleep, but the best thing is to start the day, as I often do, listening to the Bible. One can download the whole Bible online, and I prefer to go the jw.org where, according to those who know the original languages, we find one of the most accurate translations. I also like to go to biblegateway.com and compare different translations. Some of the books I listen to several times, like the ones from Matthew to Acts and Proverbs. The letters of Paul are best read slowly to understand the meaning better. We learn a lot by reading the Holy Scriptures, how those who refuse to follow the laws of God get real problems caused by themselves, and how those who follow God's advice for living are blessed. We learn how the faithful have - in spite of troubles and trials - kept the integrity, like Job and Jesus and many others did and how God awarded them. The prophecies give us hope for a better future - like the one in Psalm 37 - and tell us about a time when God no longer needs to permit the evil, when His original purpose for the earth and mankind will be fulfilled. Yes, if we keep reading God's word, we will find priceless treasures that fills us with hope for a the better future.

i have started reading the bible everyday last year. But i have stoped reading again early this year. I know we are suppose to put time to it and there are no excuses we can say or do. To justify why we have not done so. I fel guilty that i am unable to finish what i started. I guess i. Have to focus and restart again and really commit myself.. I know in doing so i hel myself more han anyone else.

Yes I read the Holy Bible every day. The method changes from time to time. Currently I am trying something new to me, reading the books of the NT in the order they were written in per Unger.

I use to read the Bible every day, now it is more when I feel the need to read it. A long time ago a friend suggested to pick up my Bible, whisper a prayer for guidance and understanding, then just open the book and read from where I opened. It really was amazing how it would be just what I needed to read at that moment in time. I also occasionally buy a book/study guide and read the Bible from its daily suggestions. I really enjoyed doing that. And, now you have me thinking it might be a good way to get me back into reading my Bible every day. So, thanks for the nudge to do so!
