i need a reliable power alternative

Me and my loving husband have recently moved to my hometown in Manito Albay. This place is one of the hidden beauties of the Philippines. Here you can find, unofficially, but I guess one of the worlds largest boiling lakes. The Mayon Volcano is a sight away, and the many beaches - from white, brown, or black sands to choose from. There are a thousand of good reasons why we moved here, but the only thing I complain about is the power outage. This past two weeks, started from when we arrived, it never fails to cut...everyday for at least 8 hours. It is so ridiculous really. Me and my husband works from home that basically use computers for living, and of course, computers work through electricity, without electricity - we have nothing! I have been thinking of ways to resolve the issue. I have been researching on power alternatives from UPS, power inverter for car batteries, to power generators. Suggestions, anyone?
