A broken heart, and a stroger me.

Heard about the quote " when someone hurts you, cry a river, build a bridge and get over it", and i felt like,"oh! this message is really for me". Having a broken heart was a tough situation for me. I was in the teenage time that moment when i found out that my boyfriend broke up with me for him to be free to love my friend. Counting the years, I realized it was more than three years since that broke up caused so much pain to me. Three years and i haven't moved on yet. My friends kept telling me to move on and get over him, and find a new one.But its difficult. I don't know why but there's a part of me that is not willing to forget him. Though I know that without him my life is much better. I'm still living with the past, and he is living with his future. It's time I guess to keep moving forward, leaving all the bad memories behind and accepting the truth, that no matter what, he is not for me and that a life without him is a better way of living life to the fullest. when that time comes, a stonger me will have to welcome a more worthy man in my life.

I agree with you. Getting over an ended relationship is very difficult. And it takes time to be able to adjust to the new circumstances. It is important though that we are able to move on with our life. It will not be easy but it can be done.

Sad to say that I don't think three years is enough time :). I was in a relationship when I was young and it was for years that I would think about him and get depressed. It really affected my life for a long time. I hope that you will find a way to move on. It is hard but you have to keep yourself busy doing the things you enjoy. Because I have learned that in the end you could and should have been happy during that time but we often waste our energy on being depressed. And then we find out that life isn't all about having a relationship.

"What does not kill you make you stronger"... is it Kelly Clarkson's? Anyways, I'm quite sure you are stronger now having been through the whole experience and emotions all these years... All the best!

So true....move on. Don't waste your time living from your past. Life is so wonderful and fun to be confining yourself with that memories of him. As the saying goes, "The show must go on"....so go on...

When someone hurts me, it feels pretty awful, I feel so vulnerable. But I learnt that it's not going to hurt me that much if I stand up, dust off the dust of myself and decide that I'm gonna be strong. I like that quote, I live after that principle. It's also the best kind of revenge, that that we ignore the one who broke our heart.

Having a broken heart is a tough situation for anyone really, I've had my fair share of times with a broken heart, it's hell, but we all get through it with friends, family and sometimes by ourselves.

How i wish i could share it with my parents... that's why it was harder for me to move on co'z i got no one to sahre with. My friends, they listened, but later get tired.. I understand them though, for over three years listening my cry, saying " i'm moving on", that's actually tiresome.. specially they saw no improvement on me over the years.

There is always a tomorrow. Life does not end because of one person. Try surrounding yourself with people who really appreciate you for who you are.
