Do many people in your country spit on the street???? Is there a law that indicates penalties whenevery someone is caught spitting on the street???
I dislike spitting on the street or any public places. I also dislike someone seeing spitting on the street especially if it's something undesirable.
Spitting on the street really bothers me.
Happy mylotting!

There is actually a house bill about spitting in public areas. I think it is called 'The Anti Spitting Act'. But the problem of this act is its implementation--proper enforcement. Too many laws are being laid down on the table and some of them are bad habits some Filipinos have (like urinating in public places).
Wait, I have even seen some people who spit out of vehicle windows (jeepneys) and they don't even give care if they could hit someone with their disgusting salivas..

In the Philippines theirs an ordinance in each cities and major towns but problem is that its not well enforce. Theirs so many laws and ordinance our government pass but if those politicians and crocodile cops can't earn from it they don't enforce it.

Can you site the specific provision or ordinance bulastika? I don't remember something like this in my place. But when I've been in Singapore, they really have a law prohibiting this act. With a corresponding penalty to violators.

I also dislike this. I have a friend whose habit includes this and I have told him about my great discomfort at the sight of his deed. He laughed and I asked him nicely to at least not do it in front of me. He did agree and respect my request so I was happy about that. I just wish though that he would have not to do it at all. I think there is an ordinance about public spitting but probably not in our city because I can see many people doing that and it bothers me as well.

Spitting in street is really disgusting especially when you see it.
There are some countries like Singapore who have law regarding spitting on public places which really fine you of a certain big amount.

Yes,but not in my state(only garbage mismanagement here, thats government's job). When I travel to other less developed states,I see it a lot there. This can be directly linked with literacy rates of the nation.People are ignorant, they are not seeing as a shameful act,but as a law that ought to be broken. It gives us great pleasure and satisfaction,if we break a law and get away with it.Thats the mentality of the people and it needs to change.

hi tess oh thats just sickeningly horrid. I hate to see this and of course on the street one can walk into that germy mess and get it
pnyour shoes. then come home and take your hands to take off your shoes. Years back there used to be laws not to spit on the sidewalk
but I do not know if here in the US we have such a law now.If we do not we sure should have such a law.It bothers me immensely too.

In Singapore they have these laws that spitting is prohibited. In case you're being caught doing it, a fine is being collected or you need to render hours for community service.
But that's going to be great (and obnoxious to some) if it is implimented in the Philippines. Educating others that spitting; above any means of nature, is inappropriate and yeah, you're right: disgusting.
Happy mylotting to you about it, LOLZ...
