just currently a filipino inventor named Jayme Navarro, converts used plastic to diesel, kerosene and gasoline. if given support by the government that invention would be a bigtime deal and it would be a great help in managing plastic trash, because plastic as we know it, doesnt decay. it can last longer than human life. and so im hoping for the philippine government to support this great invention.

My guess is that no one in the government would support such an invention as many people in the government will lose money that comes from fossil fuel gasoline. You see, the government gets a lot of money from such a business due to taxes. If they lose the tax money, they won't have anything to fatten up their pockets, right?

Forgotten, I guess...or sold to the highest bidder who is a foreigner? I don't know. Any invention that a Filipino makes that is good for the environment and has the potential to take a lot of percentage on taxes were either forgotten or sold off to someone else--only to be sold back to us and to the world at a higher price plus taking the right of being the inventor of the invention.

Right. It's really a sad thing that such talents are not recognized.
What happened to Daniel Dingel's invention? The Filipino inventor who made a water-powered car?

this is really a very good invention. But i cannot understand how plastics can be used to make diesel and is being consumed when it is in use... We all know that burning of plastics is bad. And also the carbon monoxide released by vehicles destroy ozone layer. Since burning of plastics is bad,i am sure that inventor might have changed its properties to make it use in diesel,if nt it will surely pollute the atmosphere.if the properties have been changed, then there should be done some investigation to make what product is formed when that diesel is burned.then they should investigate whether that product destroys environment.then only government should approve it.

your right about what you said, and i agree with you about its potential bad effects, but i think he did something to prevent his machine from releasing any air pollutant. well i watched the video but without its audio, thats why i didnt really understand how it works. you can watch the vid in this link.

Hello freak and welcome to myLot. I just read about Jayme Navarro. http://filipinoachievers.wordpress.com/2010/07/24/jayme-navarro-invented-fuel-from-plastic-trash-bags/ He is quite and inventor recycling plastic into twine straws and sticks and now into diesel fuel. http://www.reuters.com/video/2012/07/15/inventor-turns-plastic-trash-into-liquid?videoId=236497653&videoChannel=5. This process could take care of of lot of trash. I can even see scavengers going after the plastic trash islands in our oceans.
Smart people will get his plans and do this here i the United Stated. The problem I see is the oil companies will want to stop this unless they have a monopoly on the process.

hi, freakamir, welcome to mylot.
it's great achievement and I agree that government should support and give extra appreciation for this. now many people lose their attention to the environment but Jayme has doing an opposite. if he get full support, I believe that the idea would be develop and very useful for not only Philipine but may be in wide area -let say Shouth-East Asia. This will helpfull for human life

If it can be done that would be fantastic. That's a great idea on how to recycle that darn plastic! I hope the government are smart enough to take it on board if this really works, it could save us a lot

I have never heard of this. it is actually really nice that Filipinos are stepping up! I hope this gets supported by the government too. This can be the next big thing! But the government is really hard to get. Like, no matter how good you are, they won't notice you until you are noticed by other foreign countries. I hope our government will finally support Filipino talents. Happy mylotting.

Oh yeah, we should convert something environmental friendly trash to something we can use to reduce the cost of natural resource. I hope that everywhere, worldwidely support such act. We do need to protect our environment the same time, we have to reduce the consumption of natural resources.

that is a very nice invention. we will hope fervently that the government would support this kind of invention. if that will happened, the pollution in the country would be lessen and the disaster it may caused. but how many inventors in the country received such honor that one invention may be spread and might be harnessed with the citizen living in this island. i just don't like to name a few but hoping this one would be realized and be supported. good luck!
