The Almighty Tablet.

From desktop to laptop to the almighty tablet. The computer industry is literally saturated with choices for the consumer. How many devices does one need in order to be satisfied that all bases are covered and they are ahead of the Jones'. Personally I see no real need for a tablet in my life, but that's just me. I know that carrying a tablet verses a laptop around can be less cumbersome as well, but to some, just the simple need to always feel "connected" is the only reason they invest in every device that comes along. Can technology be an addiction?

good day to you, tlbrewer68! i believe the use of a desktop, laptop or the "almighty" tablet depends on the need of the beholder. obviously, desktops are widely used on the likes of home, offices, even on malls and restaurants, somewhere indoors for longer hours and/or long-term uses. laptops and tablets are usually used "outdoors", by people who are always fond of travelling, roaming and/or working on temporary "desks". i think the only difference between the two is that the almighty tablet is more handy and quite comfortable to use, contrary to the bulky laptop. but i guess, each of us has our own taste when it comes to what technology to use, or even not to use any of them at all :D

I suppose it can be. I have a friend who is just obsessed with it. He absolutely feels the need to have every single device that are out there. I know he can afford them. But I just find it so silly seeing him playing with several different devices at a time everywhere he goes...

good day tlbrewer68, with reference to your post, generally, people avail electronic devices since they want to be connected anytime. that they want to be posted on what's new and what is happening around. on the other hand, it must be an addiction or an indulgence to some people, because they still buy a tablet although they already have a laptop. or might be they want to be identify in the elite group of people who has both - a laptop and a tablet. since now a days, common people do admire those guys who have tablet especially. as the price of that item is quite high.

I like the idea of a tablet, but I want it to be a full computer! Today, they fall far short. They are much too slow, have poor video performance and have no hard disk or alternative mass storage. Perhaps in the future? But I rather doubt if that will happen. So my room heating PC will have to last quite a bit longer yet!
