Having dreams about Disney World!

The happiest place on earth has been invading my nighttime dreams as of recently. My grandparents lived in Orlando, Florida, so as a child our family would go up and visit them once every two years. We'd always go to Disney World too. So I've been to Disney World quite a few times. (You can say I was a spoiled child if you want, you're probably right. ) However, while I don't think you can ever outgrow the fun you can have at Disney World, I'm now an adult and haven't been to Disney World in a few years. In the past few months, I've noticed I'm recording an awful lot of dreams that take place in Disney World. I'm beginning to wonder if I miss it. They're such fun dreams too! Well, except for the one where I was at Disney World when a huge apocalyptic scale hurricane hit and I wound up taking shelter for like two weeks in an Animal Kingdom restaurant. I've been thinking recently that I'd really love to save up and go with a few friends, one of whom has never been. Have you ever dreamed about a favorite childhood place, or maybe a place you always wanted to go in childhood?

I've been to Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea (never been to Disney World) when I'm already an adult. It was fun and memorable. I felt like a kid again. I haven't dreamed about these places though. My favorite childhood place was my aunt's apartment. I used to hang out there every week. When my parents had to go somewhere, they would leave me and my sister there. I had a lot of fun memories in that place. It was my second home. Sadly, a fire accident occurred in her home during my teens. We lost her and some of our things that she kept for us. I could no longer go back there since a different family is already renting the place. All I can do is to look up and stare at my aunt's windows every time I passed by that building. Sometimes, I would dream about her and her home and would wake up feeling disappointed because she is no longer here.

DisneySea, that sounds like an interesting place! Only been to Disney World on this continent, but I think there's enough Disney fun packed into that park to make me feel like a kid again. That sounds like you had a good time with your aunt while she was here. I often wished that we lived nearer to relatives. Friends of mine would talk about seeing their grandparents, cousins, and aunts and uncles all the time when they lived down the street or somewhere really close, and I felt kinda jealous. It's so sad to hear you would dream about her and miss her, I hope that you can think of happy times though!

DisneySea sounds like it might be a fun place. I hope I get to see it someday. Good to know I'm not alone in my jealousy. I had some cousins, but they were all 8+ years older than me, and getting married and having kids by the time I was in high school so there wasn't a whole lot of common ground for us. And they didn't live anywhere nearby.

I've always dreamed of going to Disney so I'm glad to have Disney parks here in Asia. Before we went to Tokyo, our travel agent asked us to choose between Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. We chose the latter because there is no other DisneySea except in Tokyo. I had a great time even if I wasn't able to ride every ride due to time constraint. If given another chance, I would definitely go back to Disney! My aunt was a nice person, that's why it's really hard not to miss her. She used to tutor me when I was young.:) I don't have a lot of relatives. My only playmate when I was young was my sister. I'm kind of jealous of other people too because they have lots of cousins.

Wait, so are you saying you have been there once or you've always wanted to go and have only been there in your dreams?

I thin you are a passed due for a trip to Disney World, I think you really want to go there or really miss it. I had a dream about eating lobster the other day. In my dream I was given lobster to eat, but things kept me from eating it, and I was getting very frustrated. I had a couple of gift cards for Red Lobster in my purse and I wouldn't stop bugging my husband until we went there and I ate some lobster.

I may be! Guess it's time to start the my savings engines. That's a funny story, guess you were really craving some lobster then, weren't you? Well, at least that story has a happy ending.

Those sound like interesting dreams, but from reading you're threads it seems you have a lot of interesting dreams. lol I dream about my Grandmother's old house a lot. More so than ever recently. I do miss it and her. I think I miss the way my life was less complicated then, and that's why I miss it. I think a lot of people do dream about child hood things for that reason.

People tell me I have interesting dreams all the time. They might be right. I think I agree, that we dream about childhood things because life was simpler. Much more relaxing maybe, and we could just play and be ourselves. The world was kind of ours to explore.

Ah yes, the ol' Disneyworld. I've been there many years before, but since then I've only wished to go again, not seeing myself getting around to it any time soon. I did however record my last visit onto video, quite a lot of video, in fact some rides I recorded the entire ride. So now, I can view almost complete rides simply by popping a video into the vcr. Still, one of these days, I would like to go again in person. I think I really miss it. No wonder you dream about it day and night.

Oh, I took lots of video as an early teen. I still have a number of the tapes, but I don't really want to go through them. I don't think it would be the same. I have a bit of a camera phobia now, I don't even want to touch my video camera! I don't dream about it all the time, but it's still there in the back of my head. I guess I always associated the place with a kind of real relaxing vacation experience. I think the best sleep I've ever had was in Disney World. So much walking around and having fun all day, I would fall asleep instantly and not wake up until morning, and then I couldn't get up fast enough!
