Many psychotic people who grow to torture and kill people do start with animals. Its a power that they enjoy, but as it gets too easy, they have to move up to bigger and bigger "prey" to get the same thrill. However, not everyone who is cruel to animals will be cruel to people. There are the many clueless people who think that animals can't feel or suffer and that is perfectly okay to treat them badly. They think there is a "difference" in mistreating an animal and mistreating a human. I think its all equally as bad.

There is definitely evidence that people who are cruel to people often start off being cruel to animals.A possible example of this is Ivan the terrible who apparently used to throw animals off a tower when he was a kid.I think psychiatrists look at people being cruel to animals as a warning sign that they may hurt people in the future.

Hey, it is logical, and it is a behavioral pattern of that particular person. So, if you see anyone who commits cruelty to any animal, he might have some sort of anger issue himself. I saw people just like that, and they better go see a "shrink" for their mental examination.
