Did you know that in order for someone like you to work in the government you need to have a Civil Service Eligibility? The Civil Service Commission have three exam for future government aspirants. One is the Civil Service Sub professional for high school and college level,Professional for College graduates and Career Executive Service Board for managerial position. It is given only twice per year and if you file your application for the examination before the due date or the required quota was already been filled it will not be accepted. Now if you passed the exam you'll have to look out for any opening that you are eligible need to check the web everyday since the vacancy will expired within 7-10 days upon publication. Knowing this are you still going to take the exam?

I am also from the Philippines and I have passed the Professional Civil Service Exam. I was able to enter into government office and given a salary grade that can be considered as not bad for starters. Aside from the fact that it looks good on your resume, the CS eligibility also assures the public that the people holding permanent positions (especially officer levels) are fit to fill in their post (work ethics and professionalism aside). It is true that having this eligibility opens a lot of options career-wise and as far as stability is concerned, a work in the government is considered to be for the long haul.

We just have to take the challenge. There are some reasons why we did not get a particular job having all the qualifications, but let us think of the positive aspect. There is always a better thing especially for us. I was able to get into the government service despite the fact that I have no inside connections or whatever you may call it. Several applicants were relatives of insiders but I was chosen. Let us just try our best and pray more.

Good luck on your application. But sadly, sometimes even the most qualified people with equally qualified eligibility/ies are often overlooked in favor of another who have "inside" connections. Unfair, but true. In my case, I just happened to be at the right place and time when they opened a position.

I think Civil Service Eligibility is useless. It's really hard to land in government institution now a days because of the Filipino system "palakasan" which is for me not so good.

I have this kind of thinking before. I have taken and passed several examinations given by a government office, but I was not hired. I never give up. I just keep in my mind that there must be something better for me. I was not mistaken. I don't have relative in the government. But now my family have one.

Yes there are series of test in order to penetrate the government. This is really important in government agencies. I haven't took the said exams since I am not working in a government institution but if eveer, given a chance to be part of the goveernment, I will take the exam for security purposes too.

I've heard and learned about this long time ago but didn't take this seriously cause I never thought of working in the government. It's lucky if the President your working for win again but if not you will expire after 6 years. Though there is a technique I've heard over an acquaintance on how to pass the exam. But before taking the exam I advice that you should review and read a lot of news first.

It is better if we are always prepared. I took the exam several years ago and it took me more years to get my present job. But it is worth a try. I always advice my friends to take the examination as we don't know if there is an opening in a government office. Be positive always.

civil service is a good option for graduates though the job is oftentimes boring and tedious,it's steady ,offers good benefits.in china ,the competition is intense,it's not hard to find out there are 10 thousand people fighting for only one quota, that's crazy but true

Here in the Philippines, civil service eligibility is needed for you to get permanent/regularization status in the government. This is also for Salary Grade purposes. Staff position is for sub professional eligibility, supervisory is the Professional eligibility and managerial is the Career Executive Service Eligibility. This eligibility is among the pre-requirements for you to fill-up a vacancy in a government agency.
If you were able to pass a board/bar exam and graduated with flying colors, there is an eligibility given to you. You just need to apply for it in order for you to get a certificate.
CS Eligibility is recommended for those aspiring to serve in the government offices. to answer your question if i will get the exam, my answer is yes. In this way, i will have more options in getting a job. i can select between private and government.
