Well, I spent my junior high school at pesantren. Its name is Assalaam, at Pabelan Sukoharjo. Have you ever visited there, sir?

Thank you for sharing.
Hm ... a tight schedule.
I am an energy therapist and never be students (santri). Maybe I know some religious teacher (ustadz/kyai/habib).
Around Java and Bali, and discuss religion with them. I call it "pesantren jalanan"

Its full name is "Islamic Modern Boarding School of Assalaam".
Well, as a teenager , living in pesantren was so awful. Everyday we had to wake up at 3 am - 4 am . While the class ended at 9 pm, and my tasks always done after 1 am. So, I had a proper time to sleep only when I was at class. hahaha..
Assalaam has a lot of students. Over 400 students in one grade, there are 3 grades of junior high school ,3 grades of senior high school, and 1 grade of pre-senior high school. But even I was living at the same place with the male students, we were separated most of the time. Even in the class. So, we couldn't talk to each other. It made me suffering a lot. haha..
So, were you a student of pesantren too, sir? Or you just like visiting pesantren?

I did not know well about pesantren or boarding school in Java but I know a lttle about boarding school because I has studied at one of modern boarding school in Medan. but i never learn about 'yellow book' and others books that boarding school at Java learn. There are many experience learn in boarding school. living far from family. should be take care all by ownself and learn living in small society.

As students, you are certainly more about boarding schools, compared to me, because I was just watching from outside and talked with several teachers and students there. There is a book written by Martin van Bruinessen titled: "Kitab Kuning, Pesantren dan Tarekat".
