We all scream for ice cream!!! If you did not know it already, today is National Ice Cream Day...Do the right thing and have yourself a big double dip cone or a big messy hot fudge sundae or as we say in Boston, a chocolate frappe with tons of whipped cream. It doesn't matter what you pick just do it and have fun...It's the law!!!

Great!! I remember wh en you got your machine..Do you use it a lot? I don't get to use mine as often as i would like. I think I'm going to try some sorbet this week.Have you ever made it, or sherbert? I love sherbert and buy it all the time. (the price is right for it too!) I love to experiment but if things don't come out right it can get pretty costly. Some of the recipes I have for ice cream (custard based) call for 8 yolks, plus the cream (heavy) which is about the same price as a good steak lol. Vanilla beans are unreal too. I was in the market the other day and went to look at them. They wanted almost 8 bucks and there was only 1 bean in the jar. They must be out of their minds..I decided to go with chocolate needless to say!

I haven't use it a lot, and I didn't last year because I had no life thanks to the stupid math class I took. I was hoping to make some today, but my husband didn't pick up the ingredients, so it will have to wait.
I am not surprised at the price of vanilla beans and because of this drought, a lot of food prices may soar...

Me too smilemoon, but you know what I like best....vanilla! When I'm cooking on the boat I am always creating some kind of exotic sauce for ice cream. I've learned to turn an everyday dish of ice cream into what appears to be a high end dessert and vanilla goes with all!

Lol Joyce I am not keen on Ice cream I have to be in the mood to eat Ice cream which is not very often, I never used to eat Ice cream at all until 4 Years ago and then only if I was in the mood but there is a reason why I did not like Ice cream
I know I have not written yet but I will soon xxx

Well considering it's approaching the upper 80s/low 90s and the humidity is high, I might have to celebrate the holiday! Thanks for the reminder/info that today is National Ice Cream Day.

I did not know that today is the worldwide day of ice cream but it sounds very good.
Yet I also I love ice cream and if I will eat buckets of ice cream this is a wonderful solution in warm and hot days

If that's the case then unfortunately, I am a criminal of the day. I can't enjoy this today because I have a bad colds and probably fever coming up. I woke up with a heavy head ache and had chills last night. I would love to have an ice cream if only I could.

I will be taking the kids out for ice cream later today to celebrate. Though a reason to eat ice cream is really not necessary. Happy Ice Cream Day!!

Didn't know there was a national ice cream day in your place. Wow! If there is an Ice cream day here in the middle east and in this hot and humid weather - I bet there will be a shortage of ice cream.

Lucky you guys, you have national ice cream day over there. We don't over here, but doesn't mean i wont be having my ice cream. I guess it's not wrong for me to do some diry bulking (bodybuilding terms). Well, in fact i'm going now. See you later.

But on a serious note I didn't know but could be because it's not in my country? But now talking about it it does sound nice but I'm much too cold so I'm going to have a nice cup of tea instead
