I don't understand how some people like to have some exotic dangerous animals to be their pets. They can be harmful, and they are not easy to train like dogs or cats. From news, 2 parents woke up, and find out their baby's feet were wrapped around by a snake, which is a python. This python is actually belong to their next door neighbor, who has no idea how that snake escaped. I would be freak out under such situation, and claim the local authority, like animal control to put away such animals, like spiders, lizards, or alligator away from my house, since there is human beings living around the neighborhood, and those animals are most likely to initiate attack. What do you think of it?

hi,
i dont know why people keep to have a dangerous animal in their houses, especially snakes because we all know that this animal can escape easily, and your neighbor will take the risk because that snake will never know who are in the other house, for me snake s still a snake.

King, i felt lucky that so far in my area here, i don't see anyone having exotic dangerous animal as their pet. If there is anyone having that type of animal as their pet, i am sure would be feeling insecure. Because we knows that type of animal is surely one day will attack people living surrounding them. They are harmful type of animals.

The only people who should have dangerous pets are those that know how to take care of them, like vets big game hunters, zoo keepers, etc. Those animals are wild and anything could freak them out. Ordinary people do to need these animals. There should be a zoo around that your neighbour can give the python to and he can go there for visits.

Animal control doesn't deal with spiders at all. They are some what classified as an insect and not an animal. I have not issue with animals all animals come with risk they are likely to get out and possibly hurt people. If a person isn't hurt then I have no need to press charges on them. Some times animals get out it happens even with cats and dogs. I don't really like snakes so they wouldn't really be in my house and the ones I am okay with they don't get that every big and they wouldn't normally attack a person but if they are scared any animal will protect themselves just like we would. We are animals as well.

Some people are eccentric enough to have those as pets... and some people are just too rich and too show-offish, and they want to brag in front of their friends about how cool they are to get a snake or something. But some people can actually take care of them. The only thing I hate when people transfer those animals in an inhuman way and when they buy extinct animals or animals that really CANNOT be kept in a house... like a snake can be put in an aquarium... but a baby tiger???...

I don't like these kind of pets either. They should be kept away from humans because they might cause danger to a person's life. And it is not easy to have them as a pet, just imagine the cost of their foods and people's judgment upon you.

I don't get why people would want an exotic pet with children around or live in a neighborhood with kids whith neighbors with those animals! I can't stand snakes and spiders! If I saw an alligator I would be freaked out, too! I think some people think it is cool to own animals, like snakes, alligaors and big cats! Most of these animals belong in the wild and aren't meant to be pets! I also think people have no idea what they are getting into either when they get these animals! No wonder some people are attack or killed! I heard about the snake around the baby's legs and have heard other stories of snakes sufficating other infants and their owners! If you want to own a snake like a python, get a cage or some kind of inclosure that they can't escape from! I have heard there are so many pythons in the Everglades, that were released by owners who didn't want them anymore or escaped, the snakes are so bad they are eating all the local wildlife! If you don't want it don't do that! Call animal control or the local humane society to help you get rid of the animal the right way! Think before getting any animal! Exotic or a regular pet! Period!

Well, one cannot jump to conclusions. Perhaps the python was just keeping the baby's feet warm? Kindness and malice can easily be mistaken one for the other.
I do hear what you're saying though. Animals belong in the wild. They belong in nature. They belong in their natural habitats. They simply aren't evolved enough yet that they can habitualize in the same level of civilization as human beings.
Still, they're not all bad. Some of them make good pets. Sure, snakes and alligators are a bit of a stretch, so are spiders, but something like a likkewaan or lizards do no harm, and they are a pleasure to caress.
