Are you one of the "educated" people?

A lot of people nowadays have been given a chance to study and be educated. But what do we really mean when we say "educated"? Is it being able to gain lots of knowledge and skills? Is it being able to get high grades? Is it being able to discover new things? Is it being able to get a high-paying job? For many people, the latter has been the main reason why they study. It seems that money, fame and recognition lie the reason behind their will to get an education. That's practically correct and i don't go against that. Earning a degree is indeed one's pride. But there are people who are blinded by what they have earned, many of them would tell that they will never stoop down to the level of the ones who were not able to reach what they have reached and that they vehemently claim that they are educated. They become too proud of themselves that they fail to realize that being educated does not correspond to a degree as a key to humiliate underprivileged people; being educated for me implies the possession of values that were developed during the process of learning immense quantity of knowledge and skills. So, let's all be real educated people. :)

Well I am guilty of this myself at times. But I only stoop to it when something really annoys me such as absolute ignorance, child abuse, animal cruelty or destruction of the Earth by an individual.
You know what I mean, blatant and absolute stupidity and ignorance. Many mean it as an insult and that's the way I use the word "educated", as a way to let the uneducated know what I think of them ha ha.
But when people just start throwing that word around for no good reason it just means they are lacking validation in their own lives. Like, they feel they never got their rewards, or their "just desserts" if you will, for their accomplishments so they need to shout from the rooftops that they are "educated."

i got your point. there are undeniably abusive individuals, who are very much aware of the do's and don'ts and yet keep on deviating. but then again, those who are really uneducated need to be taught, they might probably be a victim of poverty; they were probably raised by uneducated people thus, the cycles goes on and on.

Yes I am an educated person education means both degree and knowledge only you have degree and no knowledge then we cant say we are well educated and if we have lots of knowledge but no degree then no one can believe on this you are educated so both are necessary.

I think, educated people is people who want to learn always. open mind and people who wise when face problem or make decision. Wherever they learn not at school only. because title from college does not make guarantee for someone to be educated people. I
Yes, I am graduated from college but i think people who could say that i am educated or no. We know that some people called us as educated person because they look how high we study. I try to be educated as i explained before.

I think people who are "educated" are often times the people who are good at "going to school" and getting grades. Sometimes they have a masters degree and are deeply in debt because they have school loans. Sometimes, people who are academically gifted are so busy going to school that they might not be as strong in other areas of life.
I didn't necessarily do well in school but I have people skills and the ability to balance all other things in my life. I'm healthy, I'm financially secure and I'm able to give and receive love in my relationships.

I guess I can consider myself educated since I went to college and stuff like that. I disagree that educated people are the ones who belittle those who are uneducated. I believe the educated understand their situation since they have already learned some values in their school. When we were young, we were told not to judge a book by its cover. I think the educated ones are the ones who are helping the uneducated make it through in life. They are the ones who provide jobs for them and give them a source of livelihood. I am from a university where they help poor communities with uneducated people. Students go to these areas and teach them livelihood strategies. So in my opinion, educated people are actually the ones lending out a hand to those people. :) happy mylotting.

educated person is a person who possess a good attitude and morally upright with a high degree of educational attainment.We maybe under control in some circumstances but we need to act righteously according to the level of education we attained in school.Your certainly right on the presented example....so for us who are educated, we need to practice and implement the real meaning of educated person!
