Why is the pope against the approval of the RH Bill in the Philippines?

The Pope and the RH Bill - The pope at the Vatican is the head of the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Roman Church. He urges Philippine bishops to stand vigilant against the signing of the RH Bill in the Philippines but did nothing in Italy and neighboring countries where the Pill and even worst divorce and abortion is legal

That is the question. Isn't it an act of meddling for the pope in our political affairs by directing the bishops in the Philippines to stand vigilant against the reproductive health bill?

I agree that the pope is meddling, but that is what the Catholic church does. We can now read the bible for ourselves and decide what is right or wrong. I'm not familiar with your reproductive health bill, but I'd be against it if it forces doctors and nurses to do things that are against their conscience or religious convictions.

I agree with that so long as abortion is not used as a method of family planning.

If we discuss this without the religios meddling I think the bill's author has a point. The bill is not promoting divorce and abortion rather than birth control through contraception methods...

the church is against RH Bill because for them it is one way of killing, depriving another individual the gift of life, and in 10 commandments of GOD it is written there " thou shall not kill " .

whats the purpose of contraception ? it is to prevent a woman to conceive right? science and religion doesn't go hand in hand.. for us people that's not against nor pro to RH bill will think that it's okay to use different contraceptive methods in order to prevent conception but we don't know about the mindset of the people in the church or the anti-rh bill group, for them contraception eliminates the possibility of life,.. :)

Any conception that has not taken place yet is just that, not a conception, nothing. You cannot kill what is not created. The church is against contraception not killing in this place. We are not talking about abortions here we are talking about contraception. At least that's what I read the bill is. If we want to go that far we need to start feeling sorry for all the sperm and eggs that die daily inside a man and monthly inside a woman. MILLIONS of sperm. How ludicrous.

Because it would look bad for them to be for it. They are historically known for pro fetus rights. As they sit in their gilded palace in the Vatican and eat off of gilded plates and probably sleep on 24K threaded sheets ha ha, while these fetuses that they insisted be born live in poverty.

He was born and lived in Germany where the government legalized divorce and the birth control pill. He should be working on reversing this law in Germany and Italy instead of meddling with the Philippine affairs...

Let them not lift the ban in the catholic church but let alone the governments regarding this issue. Anyway, the internet say that more than 90 percent Catholic women used the pill and rampant on Saint Valentine Day... Ha ha
