Green Slime - Green Slime in China Shoreline. This happened in the beach of Qingdao, China and the green stuff is algae. It blanketed the popular beach.

I just saw this in the web and its kind of scary. I read that its algae that blanketed the whole shoreline of a popular beach in China. I think this was last year (2011) and I only read about it just now. This happened in the beach of Qingdao, China. Although there is no explanation what happened in the photos its kind of weird. What happened that there's a lot of algae? Wonder what they did to the algaes?

Let me ask my friend about this. It's really weird. The beach don't look like a beach. It looks like a farm.

Yeah you're right about that it doesn't look like a beach at all. More like a very green lawn. I can't find any other article about it and what happened to the algae and what really caused it in the beginning. Is your friend from that area? Hope your friend could shed a light regarding this phenomenon.

Yes. My friend told me that he can't tell anything about it. He's a Chinese, but he's not aware what really happened in that beach.
