...responding to a myLot discussion created 4 years or 1 year ago? I think I'm just having fun here on myLot that I kept on clicking everywhere and found some interesting discussions 1-4 years ago. You know how it goes, one click leads to another.

Why avoid the topics where the best response has already been awarded? If you feel that you have something to add which might even better then by all means do so, surely?

Well, if one has the time to lounge around, why not go for any discussion to your interest, whether or not there's a best response, and whether or not, its a recently created thread. It's all about ones participation anyway.

I think that the oldest I have ever responded to was nine months old. The way that I wander through myLot, I usually don't come across the really old discussions. However, that said, I would go ahead and respond if the topic was something that was still timely if I felt I had something to add to it even if the post was 1+ years old.

Yes, wilsongoddard. Nothing happens by chance and I am sure I didn't land on old discussions for no reason.

The weird feeling I got was the feeling I get when I came across an old friend I haven't spoken to for a long time or like someone who has passed over to the other side and who only left their imprint.

I don't see any problem with that - in fact it's good for MyLot, and its members. If the discussion is interesting, responding brings it to the forefront again, so other members can take part. As long as you have something to add to the discussion, the date on it doesn't matter. Okay, the OP may no longer be active here, but there are plenty of others who may enjoy taking part in the discussion.

Yes, that's very true. It reminds me also of a Chinese saying that goes, "To read a book for the first time is to make an acquaintance with a new friend; to read it for a second time is to meet an old one." I would get the feeling that maybe my response won't be read because the original poster might be inactive. Still it's worth sharing ideas no matter how old the posts.

Yes, i feel strange, but I wouldn't hesitate responding if I like the topic, and I have something substantial to say. It's rather rare for me, though, to do this, and I usually only get the chance to come accross these long abandoned threads when I search for certain topics, and they come up on the results.

Yeah I come across old discussions because I'm using the Search field to see if a topic has already been created about it. If no results come up, I could proceed to creating a new post about it.

Well jolie, I feel it is a wonderful site to express your mind and to put your views into other's discussion. I have spent a few days here and I have enjoyed a lot. You randomly get topics of your interests and you never get bored. And the best part is that you get paid for what you do..

Nope. I never feel one bit strange doing it at all. In fact, I enjoy doing it, even when I know full well I will never get a response from it and never earn a single cent. In a weird way I feel like I am paying it forward to myLot as THEY will get paid for something I do on an older post. It's my odd way of saying thank you to myLot for letting me earn here all these years.
