We (my husband, our doctor and myself) has decided for me to be on low dose hormonal pills as contraceptive. I've started on my first pack after my 6-week postnatal check up. I have to really get ahead of the med-taking routine because this only allows a 12-hour window for it to be highly effective. I always have problems following schedule for taking maintenance meds or drugs. Good thing my husband volunteers to take the responsibility of checking on me an hour after schedule if I've taken the day's pill. According to my doctor, this is the best option I have since I'm breastfeeding.
Do you know or have you tried other contraception that is also good for breastfeeding mothers?
I wished my husband would agree to do vasectomy, but I'd respect it if he'd never change his mind.

You need to research the pills you are on. I have been on the pill a few times and was always told to go through an entire pill pack before not using a back up method.
I did the pill after my 6 weeks and got off of them your hormones still aren't settled and the pill made me very sick (even though prior to getting pregnant I always was on the pill).
I ended up with the Mirena IUD. I'd never go backto the pill. I get UTIs every once and awhile and haven't had any issues on mirena ith that, Also, no period is a plus.
If you have problems taking the pill, maybe you should try the shot or get you tubes tied? There are methods now where you have 0 recovery. Vasectomies are not very effective and reverse themselves easily.

I didn't do any more research than what can be read from the leaflet that comes with the package. It was my doctor that recommended it, so I'd trust her word on it. She has been my OB since I was single.
I'm really hesitant about the IUD, although it sure sounded very interesting. I just can't take my UTI easily because it could get worse and may lead to other problems like kidney failure.
I tried depo shots before but I had side effects that I couldn't take any longer.
So far, I have no problems with the pills, and its my 2nd week of taking it. I'll see more of it in the coming weeks.

I had really really bad UTI's, I had one that gave me vertigo with no other symptoms and almost had a Bladder infection from. The IUD has no connections to getting UTI's at all.
I'm actually going to get my tubes tied using the method above. The only recovery is fom the anesthesia and the procedure is really quick. so you are off of your feet a few hours, maybe a half a day. Not bad at all.
I wish ou luck. I stared feel bad and acting oddly about 6 weeks ino taking the pill.

Also, ive read that vasectomy is more effective than ligate for women. It said that if the tubes are tied, there are possibilities of ectopic pregnancy. But, for vasectomy, as long as the procedure was done correctly, and you allow the few weeks to pass to make sure there are no more sperms in the passage, then its more reliable.

So, you don't worry about conceiving anytime? How many kids have you got?
