You don't have to. All my time at mylot. I've been around here, i never rate any response. Merely because i appreciate all of their respond on my discussion. Anyway, if we rate someone post do we get extra earning?? :D

If you rate other user's posts, you will not receive extra earnings but, as the ratings system is part of the earnings aglorithm, you will no doubt hope that your own star will rise. The only way that will happen is if other people rate your activity. Therefore why not do unto others....?

Ah, now i know. I didn't know this all this while. Then from now onwards i shall of course try to give some ratings to those who respond to my discussion.

For your information, until a user reaches an activity rating (the number beside their username) of 100 the ratings that they give will not stick. You can see when you refresh the page that the rating boxes return.
The reason for this is that by then they should have read the FAQs and understood how to use the Discussion Rating System:

Using it incorrectly helps no-one.

Yes, being a member here and getting a chance to post back to many discussions continues to be a great reason to continue to be active here. I also enjoy starting new discussions from time to time as it gives you a chance to meet many of the others here as well as make new friends. Responding back to discussion is interesting and choosing a best response as well.

I hardly give best responses ever but i do rate all of them.
I would say wait at least for 2 weeks before giving a best responses.
Best Responses doesn't have any effect other than an encouragement to that person

There are no earnings involved when receiving or awarding the Best Response.

I am a new user and i was also thinking like you since few days. But according to me there should be some reward to both persons, who selected best response and who wrote. Anyway its the policy of mylot, may be in future they change certain policy on this matter. Thank you.
