We went to the Room Store Saturday. Ive had a bed Ive slept on for a few years thats ;ike a little click up into a couch. Not bad but could be softer. so my son said for my birthday present from him, we could add a bed for me to our furniture bill. which would mean he'd be paying the half of it. Anyway, they delivered it this morning and its nothing like what we looked at in the store So they better make it right. Have you ever felt like a store has done a switch on you?

Do you think they gave you another model of that bed? Maybe a smaller model so to speak? I'd be mad to and be quick to call them up. Heck, I probably would not have let them leave without taking it back and bringing the bed I want back!

yes they gave me a smaller, higher, bed thats the same model but i had made a deal with C. to set it up for me, not wanting them to come in my small room and all so we had them put it in the garage. before it was removed from the plastic, i did say, it looked different some how but we just thought its because it wasnt set up yet. they had left right away so it was to late once it was set up. they are supposed to bring the right one today but i havent seen them yet!

thats awesome and what is the price and is the size quite big and i feel that is a great birthday gift and i love cool and sponge water beds, since the stress is quite less and we get sleep with such comfort and feel like we are literally floating around and the discount price is also better and the service is on time.what is the name of the store .hope you are partying harder with the bed around and make sure you utilise it properly

I would call them and tell them what they delivered is not what you bought. I did get the wrong couch from Sears once. I bought it for my parents anniversary. They were very good and brought us the right one.

I hope if you are going to keep it, it is worth more money. I would still let them know I am not happy.

Once a friend and i bought a supposed new mattress form a used furniture store. They especially told us it was a new mattress. Shortly after i was getting bitten like crazy. Bed bugs. we checked the mattress many time but some time had past before they were large enough to see. Once we saw the bedbugs we took the matress out to the dumpster and cut the fabric so no body would pick it up and get the bedbugs. When we cut it we discovered under the new fabric was old fabric. The used furniture place had re-covered the old fabric and was calling it a new mattress.

Perhaps you misunderstood me. It was a used furniture store. Some things were supposed to be new. The mattress that they told us was supposed to be new. It was even wrapped in plastic. Like a new one would be. But it wasnt till we got bedbugs and cut it up that we saw it was not new.

terrible. thats why i was afraid to buy second hand. then also i worried anyway because few years ago there was a store here selling recovered old mattresses that was a promenent store supposed to be selling new furniture and all new stuff.

I haven't bought any new furniture in years. If i needed something i'd probably go to an antique store anyway. It wouldn't do for someone to do that to me. They would see my ugly disposition for sure.

Isn't it sad that u have to get mad & show your butte to get people in buisness to do right. I was in buisness for years & never had a customer have to get onto me for not doing what i was suppose to.

When I got my money from retiring early I got us some much needed furniture. One was a nice bed for my then engaged daughter and her boyfriend. That didn't work out and I ended up sleeping on it. But when they delivered the mattress it wasn't the one we had wanted and looked at at all. It was two halves. I called the place and they did make good on it although the mattress we got I still don't think was the same one. WHy they did that is beyond me. Put it on their own bed or what? And I went to Mor Furniture one time with my daughter and she was all wide eyed at the new stuff. I noticed that the bottoms of most of the furniture were all marked up and worn. I thought they have only been here for about five years and if the displays look this bad now I would rather go pay a third more for an antique that has been well taken care of, is atleast twenty five years old and looks newer than these pieces do.

thats a great idea i should have thought of that. except i wonder if i could have found a really good soft mattress in an antique. that was my main want.

Yes, and furniture stores are notorious for that. I ordered a couch once, where you had to select the desired fabric and color from a swatch book, which I did. Then after waiting for several weeks for it(pretty excited, too), it came. The fabric was as ordered...sort of. Except it was cut on the wrong grain, so the couch puckered everywhere. Eventually I got it done right, but it was pretty frustrating while it was happening. Once the properly finished couch was delivered, it was terrific. I hope your problem is resolved to your satisfaction and that you enjoy your new bed! Well, maybe not TOO much. We'd miss ya!

im hoping i will rest better and my youngest will rest better with my old bed. since its better then the floor at least. poor thing. he didnt want to sleep on the living room couch so he chose the floor in my other room which i ended up giving him. ive been wanting a softer bed for years so when my oldest asked what i wanted for my birthday i said a bed added to our furniture bill. good way for me to get a softer bed and my youngest to get a bed in his room. now my oldest gets to brag that his half will be the most expensive gift ive gotten from any of them. lol every body is happy.

The closest thing recently that has happened to me is I live in very small town Ohio as I have mentioned often so we don't have a lot of stores and I am also on the save money if you can side so driving 100+ miles to shop (if you want name brands etc) is not something I want to do every time one of us need something) so I order a lot of things online. Recently I had to order my oldest son some western boots, and he picked out black and they sent American tan, and he would not even look at them. In fact he looked at me like: Mom messed up. Though I did not, and he needed the boots and I did not want to pay another $300 so I did send a bunch of emails to them and got a lot of canned responses. Finally I sent a very angry email and told them to stop sending canned responses and respond to me to which they did. The horrible part to this was the color they sent that J. would not wear was on sale for $125 I think and they charged me the $300 for the black ones after all of this my son got his boots a month after the initial order I was not happy.
As far as beds go I get a new mattress set every two years, I use my Grandmom's bed and it is really old and I have it painted each time I get a new Mattress set.
I hope you finally got the bed you wanted.

hi bunnybon its call bait and switch and s t ore will do it unless the customer smart and says"this is nopt the one I ordered, take it back and get item such and such and they
have to do it too.they have to make it right or the Better Business bureau can make it tough on them. You order number syaz you should get syzaz no ssss, just to show what I mean I ordered a recliner once and they did not bring the one I ordered but a similar but a lot more expensive one and I had the number of my purchase and I made a fuss and they did make it gooe, not that they were happy but I di not order a 5o0 dollar chair.

No, I've never had a store do a switch like that. However, I don't think that I've ever had anything in terms of furniture or large appliances other than a stove actually delivered by the store itself. I think everything else has fallen under the category of DIY or has been included with the rental unit.

well now you have gotten a heads up to what can happen with buying such things. especially if you dont have a truck and need it delivered.

I would have been mad, too. I would have called them immediately and asked them to take it back and give me the bed that I had ordered. I don't think that I have experienced the same thing, but I had another bad experience with a furniture store.
I bought a bed, I paid it in the store and asked them to deliver it to my home. My bed didn't arrive. When I called them and asked them why I didn't receive my bed they tried to hide the truth, but when I kept asking they finally admitted that they had forgotten about my purchase and sold the bed to someone else.
They told me that they had no more beds left and that they would order one for me. I asked them how long that was going to take, and they said that it wouldn't take long. So I waited and waited...waited. Still no bed I called them several times and they kept telling me that it wouldn't take long. After sleeping on the floor for several months I finally got my bed. Today I avoid that store.

i did call them right away and gave them a peice of my mind and then some. these days we have some leverage. most stores are having such a time staying afloat they cant take a chance on bad publicity. so they sent me one close enough to what i wanted today. im happy.
