If you are building a gaming computer, don't go with macs. Most games are not compatible with macs and require you to dualboot for you to play them. "Already Set-up" pc gaming computers are cheaper and better in terms of hardware than those you see with macs.
I am not up-to date with motherboards but if you want to play recent games on max settings, then you should have an i7 or higher processor, at least 2gb video card(ati is better for gaming but heat is a problem. You need coolers even if you live in cold climates), at least 8gb ram(16 is better). Harddrives is up to you. Harddrives can be remove or added anyways.

Hello amnision! You dont really need an A-1 computer set or a top of the line motherboard and graphic card for editing videos ,but I suggest that If You will be using a computer for video editing I suggest that purchasing a desktop is the best option rather than notebooks or laptops. Laptops and netbooks are not intended for heavy use..

Most of the top youtubers actually use mac for video editing as apple are probably one of the top machines to do this.
As for a website to buy the items to build your pc goes I would use e-buyer.com or eBay or Amazon, I would do some research on what to build to suit your needs whether you need a i3,i5,i7 cpu or 8gb-16gb memory is good.
For an example good video editing set up for a pc is:-
Intel i5-3550 CPU
Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard
8Gb Memory
1GB Geforce GTX 560 TXI Graphics card
Then a nice decent size Solid State Drive
