according to Quran 24:32 http://quran.com/24/32 "And marry the unmarried among you" it means both man and woman marry unmarried. but why is it that in Quran 4:3 http://quran.com/4/3 "then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four." is this conflict verse of the quran? cross posted http://www.ummah.com/forum/showthread.php?333818-conflict-in-quran-about-marriage

I have never understood that either. That is a good question that maybe someone here can answer.

The Holy Qura'n 24:32 "And marry such of you as are solitary and the pious of your slaves and maid- servants. If they be poor, Allah will enrich them of His bounty. Allah is of ample means, Aware." The Holy Qura'n 4:3 "And if ye fear that ye will not deal fairly by the orphans, marry of the women, who seem good to you, two or three or four; and if ye fear that ye cannot do justice (to so many) then one (only) or (the captives) that your right hands possess. Thus it is more likely that ye will not do injustice." Can you please tell me Where is the conflict here?

Hi, Just looked at your post. I hope it is all clear to you now since it is several months old. Still if there is any doubt, I would be glad to explain.

The first verse is quite different meaning from the second: The first verse: God ordered them to marry their free , and their slaves , and promised the rich, where the Almighty says in same verse : " if they are poor, Allah will enrich them of His bounty; Allah is Embracing, Knowing." The second verse is a verse in the plurality of wives is known that the requirement of justice between wives, the God Has denied that modifies men among women , He said in Quran : " You will not be able to be just between your women, even though you are eager. Do not be altogether partial so that you leave not be altogether partial so that you leave her as if she were suspended. If you reform and are cautious, Allah is the Forgiver, the Merciful."Al-Nisaa- 129 " then marry such women as seem good to you; two, three, four of them. But if you fear that you cannot do justice, then one only, or, those you possess. It is likelier then that ou will not be partial." Al-Nisaa - 3
