Do you have an ingredient you keep on adding to most of what you cook and somebody was able to decipher the difference it created?
This morning, my uncle dropped by and I had to cook for him. Just friend ham. sliced and sauteed with fresh sweet peas. Yes, just like that but he actually tasted what I mixed. I though no one would ever asked. I added tamarind paste which I made myself. It feels good when someone appreciates your cooking hehe.
My hubby thought i'm adding lime juice. Nope!
What cooking ingredient do you have that you think others don't?

I use sausage drippings if I fry potatoes. It makes them acquire the sweetness of the sausage, giving the potatoes more character.

Oh really, that's different. My aunt boils bacon and stores this fluid in the fridge. We thought she's saving it for the dogs but she's using it when sauteeing vegetables. And wow the vegies taste great!
Thanks for another idea!

I have my own vegie soup different from others. I made it myself and I add it to almost everything I cook even salad.
I had a pastor visitor and asked me what were the seasonings I added on what I cooked. I told him and he said he will be buying a lot of this 'vegie stock' and give it as a gift to his wife. His wife runs a restaurant.
I wasn't able to tell him that I made the vegie stock.

My wife do add tomato puree in every dish. It is tasty to eat and healthy too and it helps to change the color of the dish. Onion and garlicky paste and some ginger is also combined to have a tadka effect.
