Do you usually travel in the high season or in the low season? What are the advantages and disavantages about the high season and what are the advantages and disadvantages about the low season? Did you ever regret your choice? Why?
I think that the advantages about the high season are pleasant weather and long opening hours in museums etc. The disadvantages are the relatively high prices and large number of people who want to visit the same sights as us. The advantages about the low season are the low prices and the quiet atmosphere. The disadvantages about the low season are the cold or rainy weather and the fact that many sights are completely closed or a only open a few hours a week.
I have travelled during the high season and during the low season. I think that the biggest problem about the low season was the sights that I wasn't able to visit at that time of the year. I once stayed in a hotel in Estonia during the low season and I was literally the only guest in the entire hotel. It was a strange feeling to walk through the empty and extremely quiet corridors, but the staff was very friendly and they had plenty of time to answer my questions since I was the only one there

I would prefer to travel during the low season. This is due to the price factor. During low season, hotel rate at vacation spot can be a lot cheaper. The same goes to many services provided which yoy can negotiate a better price. You will also no need to queue that long for tickets and other stuff. The only disadvantage of low season may be the less crowd at vacation spots if you would like to meet more people. And perhaps the programs and activities available may not be that many compared to high season.

The low price in the low season is a huge advantage. Many hotels offer discounts if you travel in the low season and it is easier to afford our stay if we choose to travel during at that time. The sights, restaurants and shops are also less crowded and we don't have to wait in line for a long time when we want to visit a museum or buy something to eat or drink. I like the quiet atmosphere during the low season, it is more relaxing than the times where the city is full of other tourists. I agree with the disadvantages that you mentioned. Sometimes the choice of activities is limited and we don't have the chance to meet lots of new people, but there are other advantages like the price.

High season pros:
-every shop is going to be open (sometimes in low seasons even the most basic supermarkets don't open because they think t's not profitable enough)... same could be told about any services, like museums, markets
-good weather
-nice other programs
-more pre-planned programs
cons:
-too crowded
-really expensive
-harder to get in better-known museums etc. in the daytime
Low season pros:
-tranquil environment, not feeling pushed and too crowded... also, it's easier to really discover little streets and whole cities
-smaller prices
cons:
-lots of shops and services closed
-some might feel isolated or lonely

I think that the pleasant weather and the long opening hours are two of the very positive things about the high season. I often visit a city in the north of Denmark. In the summer months everything is open and there are lots of different activities, and in the winter months many shops and other places are closed. It is nice to visit the town when everything is open, but on the other hand I also enjoy the quiet atmosphere in the winter. The streets aren't crowded and I never have to wait in line if I want to visit buy something in the one of the shops. Another thing that I like about the low season is the prices. Things are generally less expensive and that is a great thing.

Usually the low season, since my vacations coincide with the long holidays of another country here in the company I work for. I travelled to beaches when it's rainy season in the Philippines, but the weather was great in the places I visited. I couldn't say there were fewer people since some of these places are crawling with tourists all-year round. Also, I only travel with discounted airfare and the low season tickets are amazingly cheap if you book quickly enough once the promos are put up in the airline websites. This September (rainy season again in the Philippines) I'm vacationing for five days on an island and my tickets were bought months ago.

I love to travel when it´s low season in my country. Air fares are a lot cheaper and that accounts for a big part of the expenses. There are many places where they have nice things to see all year around. Some people check beforehand if certain atractions are open, such as opera and the like in cities. But museums are always open and if you go to the country or the beach, you should only worry about the climate at the time you are traveling.

It is much cheaper to travel in the low season, that is true. It is great that there are many places in your country where you can visit the attractions all year around. In my country it is not a problem to visit Copenhagen or one of the other big cities in the low season because things are still open, but in some the smaller places it is only possible to visit the museums in the summer months. If you want to visit one of the smaller places you have to plan things more carefully and check the opening hours beforehand. In my country you can only go on a beach vacation in the summer months. The rest of the year the weather is too cold, but city vacations are possible all year.

Yeah, don't like crowds. You can see a place better when there are less people, and maybe get better prices.

Definitely during the low seasons. Prices are much more down to earth and queues do not exist. Fortunately, all touristic sights are open when I travel during low seasons. I think when traveling during the low season the vacation becomes much more relaxed! A true sense of getting away from every day life.

The low prices and the non-existing queues are two of the best things about travel in the low season It is great that the sights are open when you travel in the low season. Unfortunately I have experienced the opposite situation and a lot of the places where closed during the low season, but I think that depends a lot on your destination. At some places the sights are open all year and in some of the smaller places they are also open during the high season. I recognize the thing you wrote about having a relaxed vacation in the low season. There is one town that I visit relatively often. In summer there are lots of tourists, noise and crowds. In the winter things are much more quiet and relaxing.

I like to travel in the shoulder season and it is usually when the weather is nearly as good as the high season time. Examples of these would be mid January to Cape Town in 2009, South Africa and the same for the Caribbean coastline of Colombia in 2011. In 2010 I went to Vancouver in that same sort of time shoulder season in June and early July. On my trip around the world I was away more than one year and experienced the low season in Darwin. It was the wet season there and I had very high humidity to deal with. I have been to the Pacific Islands in the low season due to visiting many destinations on the same trip. I went to Croatia in June 2003 and it was the low season. In the campsite on one island I was the only camper. I don't like it when all museums and other attractions are closed. In Tigre in Argentina there I saw an amazing art gallery. I had to view it from its gate. It was sad not to be able to go in it and see its splendid looking grounds. In January 1992 I traveled in Southern Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. At one youth hostel I was the only traveler. I don't like rainy weather. Now it coming up to high season in England and the weather is not too summery. It is wet, windy and cool.

I think there are too many people during high season. And it seems like ruin my mood about the beautiful place.Well, though low season didn't show much beautiful as high,it gives us another different feeling. This depends on us how to think about that and the attitude toward it.
