Any Game of Thrones fan out there?I cant wait for about another year for season3

Hello myLotters, I have watched Season 1 of Game of Thrones twice and will start round two of season 2 very soon. The last fantasy books I read was the Lord of the Rings , which was somewhat different from the movies but nevertheless I enjoyed both very much. I found that the books bore a lot of attention towards the character development like how the ring really was being a burden to Frodo and specifically how it really was sucking the life out of him rather than in the movie, Frodo looked depressed all the time. So, I thought I should catch up on my reading with the Game of Thrones series. If I have finished season 2; which book should I continue with or should I start from the beginning with the Song of Ice and Fire?

Hello yesss unfortunately you have to wait like the rest of us. They just started shooting earlier this month after confirming the new characters coming in for the show. It really is a great show and a breath of fresh air. It should be coming out around March 2013.

I can't wait for the Game of Thrones Season 3! I am not used in watching it every episode weekly but I'm used watching the whole season all at once. It so sad that I think I need to wait for almost a year to watch it.

Start at the beginning! There is so much going on in the books, so many characters and intertwining situations that I think you need to start at the beginning. I haven't seen the show because I don't pay for premium TV and don't have any memberships in DVD clubs but I finished the series and can't wait for the 5th book to come out!! I won't spoil anything for you but it's a fantastic read, I could barely put down the books and waiting for one from the library waiting list was almost painful. You'll love the books. Happy reading!

I love the Game of Thrones series. I can't wait to see the third season. This series reminds me of the Wheel Of Time Series by Robert Jordan. I'm looking forward to read the novels.

A song of Ice and Fire is the book series. I recommend you start from the first book because as you just mentioned the books are different from movies and TV series. There are always differences. I love the TV series too I can't wait for season 3 either

I just started watching the first season and... wow. Every episode has a moment that leaves me speechless. I too will be reading the books soon. I've heard that the show is close to the books but not exact so I will be starting with book 1. Does anyone know how many books are in the series so far?

If you have not read the books at all, start with book #1. The tv series and the books do not 100% match. If you don't read the books from the beginning and start the books on #3 you will be confused.
