My Desktop computer is 7 years old. Now a days it is giving me trouble by hanging and not opening the attachments for the email etc. However much I clean the temp files and remove unnecessary clusters from the system, still it shows a message Low disk space. Anyway I want to buy a new Desktop PC. I have a laptop. But I feel comfortable using the Desktop at home. Many desktops have come into the market with small CPU and other facilities. Can you please suggest me and advice me as to which one is good and does not occupy much space and also with various functions please? Thanks in advance.

Hi Buchi, since the first time I used my son's laptop I fell in love with this portable device deeply It's left for me while my son went on his couple of weeks vacation. It worked well and had the same features and functions of the desktop I had been using for years. It's more handy as I could take it with me wherever I was. Every corner inside the house and any places away from home, really convenient.
I purchased a brand new laptop after my son came home This is the second laptop I use currently. It's more faster in speed with and core tm i5 processor. If it's affordable I would like to get a laptop with i7 processor. It's still very much higher in price to get the latter one. Anyway it servers it's purpose really well compared to the old one. The old desktop with bulky cup had passed to my elder brother.
You can try to work on a laptop first, to experience yourself the differences working on different pc. You then decide which is more suitable for you. Wish you all the best dear
Happy posting and have a nice day!

Just because you haven't turned up for quite sometimes, that's why we could hardly meet here. I'm so happy to see the familiar image of you showing up here again
Since you find desktop is easy for you certainly you feel more comfortable to work on it. Then don't be hesitant, go and get a brand new one.
Toshiba PC0910 is my the laptop I first owned. I use it to read latest news nowadays for its low speed I purchased my second Acer brand laptop in black half and a year back. It's CORE TM i5 processor is sufficient for me to do most of the online work and surf as well as watching tv movies.
Happy posting

Nice to meet you in mylot after such a long time friend. I used my elder daughter's laptop and also my husband's laptop. Somehow I am not able to operate with ease and it goes very fast and the site goes off or mails get deleted and probably I am not getting the usage I feel. My daughter says she will get a laptop for me. But working on Desktop is easy for me. May I know what is the name of your laptop?

You can try buying a miniatx casin for your PC. Mini atx cases are smaller than the standard atx cases but you have to buy the pc components that suit it. You need to get a mini atx motherboard that can be fitted in it. You also wont have much choices of graphic cards that will fir in a mini atx case. Cooling of the whole system might not be effective due to too little space for good airflow
inside the casing. If you are not running any high perfomance applications (eg. Gaming) then it shouldnt be much of a problem. If you are okay about the drawbacks, then you cam go ahead and look into mini atx.
You can also source from various reputable pc manufacturers that sell PCs in smaller form factor, which saves you the trouble of sourcing for parts

Honestly speaking, I can't really suggest you a particular desktop computer which gives you more functions. They are all quite similar to each other. Your old PC most probably got infected by virus and malware which causes those issues you mentioned. Anyway, if you are really certain of buying a desktop computer which does not take as much place then I would suggest you to buy dell all in one desktop. They are pretty handy and easy to move about. The cpu is attached to the monitor for more space saving.

Thank you for the suggestion friend, I exactly want that way, without CPU occupying more space. I will check up in the shop.

Hi Buchi_bulla it doesn't help though that today you can buy computers for anything from £100-£10000 and for anything from surfing the internet to playing the latest games.
I could tell you about 30 different set-ups for computers all are good for its each individual thing. Buying a pc has changed so much since 7 years ago with all the new graphics cards, memory, cpu's coming out etc etc.
What you need to decide first is how much can you really afford?
What do you want your computer for Internet/email or video editing and gaming, there is no point in buying a £300 graphics card if you are not going to use it really.

Hi Buchi_bulla! Why don't you try assembling your own computer? Buy each part separately and then assemble it yourself. That way you can even customize the speed, memory, and disk space that you want. You also have more control over your budget that way. Well, good luck in buying your new desktop.

My present computer is an assembled one only. I thought if I go for a branded one, servicing will be easier and the brand name will enhance the quality. Anyway, I will check it up. Have a good day.
