Hey people!
We can't avoid to lose our valuables like id, wallet, accessories and etc.
The question is: Do you bother to return the lost and found items?? If you see some numbers, do you ever try to contact them so that you can return their items??
Or whenever you find something, do you ever mind to pick it up?? or you just ignore??
Please do share some experiences.
If you happen to see my lost ids, please feel free to contact me. LOL!

I would call the owner if there is a number or something. Alternatively I may give it to the authority. But in most situations, I would not pick up something when I saw it. This is because I don't want others to think that I,am,trying to just take it. People tend to have negative thoughts on others. Even if my real intention is to send it to the authority, people may think that I am stealing it. So it's better do leave it or only pick it up when there is no one around.

Good question you have asked. Well I am a pretty honest guy I mean if I found a persons wallet or something that I could tell who owned it then yes of course I would return it.
However if I found a 5 dollar bill on the street I am not likely to go out of my way to track down the owner. If it was something of great value financially or maybe sentimental then I would try to return it yes.

I have lived in countries where nobody ever made any move to return anything found, but now I live in a place where people do return what they find and that is very nice! One time I lost my bank card and I even had tears in my eyes when it was returned to me! When I was told to tell the bank about it, I thought they would think I was stupid and yet that was how I got my card back!

Yes, I will pick it up and bring it to the police station. I don't feel like I need to call the owner by myself. Once I pass it to the police they will do the job and I'm done with the responsibility.I could not just ignore it as it is my responsibility and I know how it feel if we lost our things. So better bring it and give it to the police so they will return it to the owner.(^^)
Sorry, I could not find your Ids here~(^^)

Well, first I want to be honest with myself. For this reason I say this thing is not to brag, but as for me, is the reality.
If I were to find a lost object of any type, take for example a wallet, I would not touch anything of value that I can find inside.
I would seek only documents the unfortunate individual who has lost, so I return it to its recipient.
If instead it could find devoid of documents, in this case, the hand over to the police office or lost objects.
PS: I am very sorry for the fact that you lost objects, but you know very well that I still have not found them!

To be frank with you, should I find somebody else's belongings, I get it to the Police, so that they have the headache finding the persons who lost their 'items' in the first place. In this 'day and age', sometimes, trying to locate the rightful owners- in a bid to return lost items to them- may backfire on us; as ones good deeds may be interpreted wrongly by the aggrieved!
In addition, criminality has become so sophisticated, so that it may become difficult for persons to 'filter' the good deeds, from the 'crooked' ones. Hence, I allow the authorities to deal with that eventuality.., instead of me.

I don't remember ever coming across a lost wallet or ID but in case I would, I'll definitely try to locate the owner. I know how it feels to lose something and I wouldn't want anybody to feel the same. I would like it very much though if I get to find my lost things again or it be returned by somebody, so I would also be happy to make other feel the same kind of relief by returning their lost items given the opportunity.

Oh yeah...gladly I would.
I have found many items already and always try to locate the owner as long as there is a contact number or anything to locate the owner.
I found mobile phones from mall, public vehicles and from the road (someone dropped it) and had those items returned.
Haven't got the chance of finding a wallet-but I found documents left at the fastfood chain and luckily there are contact numbers inside the envelope and the owner was so thankful.

If I were to find something that belongs to another person I would attempt to locate the owner if possible. Otherwise I would go to the nearest police post and hand it over to them. I would feel real sad if I were to lose my stuff and no one bothers to return it.

Yes I do, I've done it twice. The first time I was in high school and I found a wallet with money and ID and I gave everything to the police. The second time I found a bag under my car, obviously someone stole it and threw it away when he took the money. I found some documents and I called the lady that owned the bag. She came to pick it up and she said that someone with a bike stole it when she was walking back home but she didn't have much money inside anyway. She thanked me and left!

Yes, I return lost items. One time I found a cellphone left in my classroom. I tried to open and send a message to anyone in the phone book but the cellphone is locked. Good the owner called her cellphone so I answered and she told me to leave her cellphone in a designated place... And she got her cp.

I believe in good karma. I will make an effort to return the one I just found. I know the feeling of losing something. I lost several cellphones already, maybe 4 already, no one bothered to return.
Sure, I will return your ID if ever I will find it. Thanks

When I was younger, I didn't bother. Tough luck, finders keepers! Until I lost my own wallet and in it, my life: my IDs, my license, credit cards, debit cards, some money (I'm always broke!), some pictures that I have no way of replacing. I have my contact details there and I was hoping and praying like mad that whoever finds it be kind enough to return it to me, even if they take the money. Too bad, my karma was served, it wasn't returned to me. All the hassles that I have to go thru just to be able to have all my stuff re-issued. Insane. From then on, I contact the owner if I found a lost wallet or purse. I've known how it was and I feel embarrassed that it would take one bad experience for me to learn something that I've known for a long time.
So if I ever found yours, worry not because I'll return it to you! ;)
