FIRST of all, please go to your doctor with any kind of weight loss or medical issue. Never just take from boards or discussions...everyone is different. However, I have something that I just need to share. I am one of those 'tubby chubby's' Not really fat, not really skinny. Well, I've had this weight thing most of my life. I was surfing, and came upon people who used saran wrap around their waist to increase their metabolism. Well, guess what. after doing it for about 3 months, I am REALLY way smaller! I always had that 'stubborn' fat issue. but I will say one thing, give saran wrap around the waist at least 3 to 4 months, wearing every day (they say it works faster if you are in a hot climate). and it seems to work. However, check around, some people say it is harmful. I do not know why, but check it out first. I'm been doing it and it really does seem to help you lose the extra inches. I've not done anything else but that, and it's working!!!! Something to think about. Also, if you do not like the idea of saran wrap, you can purchase a SQUEEM (google it), and it is supposed to do the same thing, but saran wrap is cheaper :D. Take care!

I can imagine that the chemicals in saran wrap when exposed to heat can absorb into the skin and hence why it can be dangerous. It also might be how tight they wrapped the saran wrap around them. Of course, There are many things out there made to supposedly help with metabolism. I have a diferent way to increase mine, though it can be just as equally dangerous. (I've used Apple Cider Vinegar in the past to increase my metabolism). Right now I am just trying to be more active, even if it's just a quick walk around the block, whatever little bit will help.

hi nyssa if you sweat a lot anything will make you lose weight but its just water loss, it w ill come back. saran wrap is full of cancer producing chemicals that if put in the blood stream could make you sick. you can do the same thing by going into a sweat bath and its safer. but the best way to lose weight is to make a life style change in what and how you eat and in having an hour exercise six days a week to raise you heart rate an metabolism . saran wrap is stupid and dangerous.do not use saran wrap but do use common sense.

Actually, I know what you are saying, except I believe that it is increasing an over all metabolism change. As I have lost weight ALL OVER, not just the tummy area. It's almost as if the increased heat is increasing my body's caloric burning. and it's not just water. I've gone without it for about 2 weeks, and I did not gain the inches back. I've been doing it for a couple months now. so it really does seem to work by increasing the body's overall caloric consumption. I am probably wrong, but whatever it is, I now am getting muscle definition in my shoulders and arms. something I've NEVER had, as I have a body shape that has a little 'chubby' fat on the upper arms. Just having the saran wrap on the belly seems to be even helping my arms.

I would be hesitant to try this. I remember years ago there was a company that would wrap you in elastic bandages and it was for weight loss. The women looked like mummies. I have been successful with weight loss with eating a healthier diet and increasing my physical activity. However I still have those wonderful problem areas that are really testing will power! I do know if I bring this one to my doctor for her approval though she will not approve it.
