hi mylotters!
I remember what my professor/dean once told us back in college, there's no such thing as luck. So instead of saying good luck before an exam, it's better to say God bless. I now realized what she meant for that, she only wanted us to study harder and prepare for an upcoming exam. One can't get out of something (like passing or topping the exam) just because of good fortune. We must work for that or we must have done something before something happened. Just like winning from a lottery, one did not won by chance. Of course, he/she did bet for one. Luck, occurs beyond one's control. Yes, indeed! But I rather call it God's works. Everything happens for a reason, and all in God's perfect control of our lives.
All in God's perfect timing; never late, never early.

I am one with your professor. I don't also believe in luck. Luck is the opposite of faith. If you believe in luck it means you don't have enough faith in God because you allow your life to move by chance. But in this world we have to be sure of every thing we do. Things may not always be good but never believe it is because of luck. Always remember that God is in control and as you said every thing happens for a reason, all in God's perfect time. He never moves without purpose or plan. We just have to trust Him.
