All I did was workout regularly, eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, soups, boiled lentils, peas and reduce my coffee, sugar and oil intake. I did take a lot of water and milk without sugar too. I like to mix protien powder in milk, so I had a tasty drink atleast twice a day.
Cutting down on sugar, oil and caffine was what worked for me. I could see the results in just a few days. My stomach too(after delivery bulge)has come down and I am very determined to make it flatter. Does anybody else have weight loss tips and stories? If so, please share so that it would help me as well as the others from making the same mistakes that you made. And would help in our weight loss too.

Hey hats off to your health loss regime and the determination with which you carry out this regime would be an inspiration for many.
Well i make it a point to walk atleast 10-15 minutes a day and that keeps me fresh and awaken throughout the day. i take oats everyday in a bid to control the cholesterol levels and improve my body immune system. This has also helped me to regain my shape.

I must admit that I do slip sometimes. But it is very rare and I do not stop myself from having the occasional sweet or two. But it is always only a small bite for me to satisfy my urge and nowadays, since I have cut down on sugar, even fruits seem too sweet to me. So, if I do get the urge to have something sweet, I reach out for a fruit.
I never seem to have the time to prepare oats in the mornings even though I would love to have them. Good that you walk at least 15 minutes a day. Try slowly increasing it and stop when you reach 45 minutes. You can increase it by 5 minutes every week.

Good that you are walking. And walk slowly for the first 5 minutes, a brisk walk for the next 5 minutes and then again slow down for the last five minutes. Keep increasing the brisk walking time by 5 minutes every week. With controlled diet and walking for upto 45 minutes a day, you will definitely loose weight. Good luck to you.

Congrats on your successful diet.
Healthy diet is the best and add some exercise.
Losing 5 kgs in just few days is great, so I guess that is good enough, just keep it up.

Jaiho, you have mistaken me. The weight loss is not only from diet, it is also from a good workout which I get everyday from the gym. I have not been very regular to the gym for the past two months otherwise I would have lost more.

I also think it is good to workout regularly and to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and not to eat packet foods. I think packet foods are not good for health. I think It is good to take salads in between breakfast, lunch, and supper.

I do not eat processed, fried, sweetened food nowadays. But if I really have the urge to eat, I might just take a small bite to satisfy that urge. No more. But mostly, I take cut fruit. Watermelon is an excellent inbetween snack. Tasty too.

Good for you that you loss that much weight. Before the year starts, I weighed 85 kilos. I started my diet and loss almost 5 kilos too by just cutting down the food I took. I did not work out. What I really want now is to make my tummy flat. I am trying to make some sit-ups but it seems that it does not work at all.
You are right, cutting down the sugar can help you reduce weight because you are also cutting down the calorie intake. Drinking milk protein is an option but it is very exensive here in our country. Taking calcium can help reduce fat absorption up to the cellular level.
Please share to me what are your routines in making your tummy flat.
Good day!

You are absolutely right, sometimes, the pain you experience may be the cause of your motivation to get loss. I don't need to have that six-pack abs, all I really want is to flatten a bit of my belly. Maybe reducing the food intake is already a good option. Thanks for those suggestions.

Hi. It also depends on your age if you can do sit ups. Having back pain could hamper your enthusiasm. Try crunches instead. Straight crunches, oblique crunches, dumbells side bends etc. I am going to the gym daily(good that I paid for a yearly membership) and the trainers there help me out with my workouts for the desired results. Reduce the amount of food you take but take six meals a day. Breakfast, soup or fresh cut fruit inbetween breakfast and lunch, then lunch, boiled lentils or peas by 3 p.m, again a fruit by 5 or 6 p.m and then light dinner.

Wow!! That is great! For those who give up easily they should read your post that nothing is impossible including losing weight! Congratulations! You have lost that much!!I am sure you are happy for it. I don't have certain diet since I have the right body weight but it does not mean that I can eat anything I like. I do some exercise and take care of my meals as well and I started take a supplement a few weeks ago as I know if we cut this and that food, we might end up getting less nutrition and I really feel the different starting the day with and without taking the supplement.(^^)

Hey thanks. I have started on intense excercises too from today. All these days, it was just light ones. I will post again when I loose more weight. I am taking protien, omega3 and calcium supplements too. Apart from spending 10 minutes for two to three days a week in the sun for vitamin D.

I was 63 when I started excercising. Now I am 58 kgs and have a target of 53 or 54 kgs. So I should loose another 4 kilos and I am planning on doing it in the next two to three months. I have just been on a light preliminary weight loss workout for the past few months(it is supposed to finish in one month but because I was not regular it has dragged on for two months with one month break inbetween). And now my trainer has started with the real workout. I will loose weight automatically, no doubt about that. But, I am concentrating on my hip, thighs and abdomen and am aiming to loose in all these areas. It is because I have put on much weight post childbirth only in these areas and if these reduce a little, I will look much better. My mantra is always slow and steady because I cannot risk injuries right now.
Moreover, if I do keep up my diet as I have specified, I am bound to loose weight easily. Since I have back pain, I cannot do exercises which are very strenuous. So I am being monitored and any pain or discomfor is being treated with care.

Devi, good to hear that you are working hard, we must work hard for our success, as you know my wife also give birth to two kids, but she never got weight, as she is doing all the house hold work by her own, so she don't need any exercise, in fact she started to do the house hold chores after 15 days of his delivery, as we don't have any helping hands

Hey thanks VP. Sometimes, like now, when I am facing problems at home, my children are my only hope. And I forget all my difficulties when I take care of them or play with them. My daughter, especially, would come hug me every now and then to say that everything would be okay. I just wish I could make things better for her.

Hi VP. Darshi and I have a lot in common. I started working on the fourth day after my delivery. So I guess we both are people who cannot sit quiet. But I put on a lot of weight because of my first daughter. when she was born, I had terrible back pain and had to undergo physiotheraphy for more than two years on and off. So I was not able to do a lot of heavy excercise nor could I work much around the house.
But now I am intent on reducing my weight as well as getting healthy. So I joined a gym some months back and till now I have not been very regular. But now, for the past one week, I am regular and have started dieting too and hope I reduce much weight before my son's birthday in august.

I`m starting to diet after being on vacation for 2 weeks. I must confess that i ate all sorts of good things that ended with my arriving with 3 more kilos. I.m om my third day of diet. Salads everyday, vegetable soups and small amounts of legumes are the main diet.

3 kilos! I will have to workout for at least two or three months to burn that off! Legumes and soups help keep you feeling fuller for long so that you don't feel hungry quite often. Good plan, keep it up. And shall we compare our weight loss after two weeks? I would love to have a partner in this.
