I am out, this morning they freed me. :-)
I have some pain still and it won't be easy to sleep in my bed so I think I'm going to stay on the couch for however long I can stand it and probably have to sit up, which hasn't been too difficult for me today as everytime I sit and watch TV there my eyes start to close and doze off every few minutes. I guess I'm still very tired form the srgery. They gave me morphine at first but I didn't feel it was helping so they switched to Percoset, and I have to be careful with that cuase I'm told it has some form of aspriin in it which will hinder another health problem. My tummy still right now isn't completely in the best of shape but they did have to take the ovary with the cyst. No cancer though which is a good thing. There are dissolvable stitches and still have pain when I try to get up and sit sometimes. I don't wanna take to much of the pain med either, although I might have to still take it 1-2 times a day.
I'm hoping to be more pain free in days to come. Possibly I'll post else where to let others know how I'm doing soon.
My folks brought me to the hospital by 5:30 and it was finally started at 7:30 but let me tell you wow was that ever scary. I never wanna go through that again. My brother came with us to take me home, he drove in fact as my dad hits to many bumps when he drives. The darn wheelchair wheeler hit the wall with me in it too at one point and wow I thought I would see stars, I grabbed my tummy and the look on my face must have been priceless. Accidentally but she was wheeling me too fast.
I have only the one pain med and I see the DR back in maybe two weeks. Thats all the update on me right now, I want to get better and better everyday. Luckily my family is being supportive of me now.
I hope mylot will understand if I don't post here for awhile?

Freed finally, huh? Great and glad to hear it. Good idea to sleep as much as you can. They gave my daughter morphine for a pelvic exam the other day. I thought that was weird. Percoset is nice. I always liked Tylenol 3 but I don't even know if you can get it anymore. Haven't heard of it in years. No cancer? Ya!! The dippy wheeler should be chastised for sure. Glad to hear that your family is being supportive. I hope you heal real fast and as long as you sign in on Mylot monthly you are good to go.

Well I am glad the nurse was wrong and you were able to get home fast. I will be thinking of you and hoping you heal quickly. The doctors want you up and around fast now days. Used to take a lot longer. Do all the things now that you couldn't stand to do when you were up and after it.

Yes, finally, heehee. I was like, this nurse is telling my folks that I might be there for three days? No way! They told me two days. So I just forced myself to get up and walk, etc. I was my own real nurse in there in a few ways. I haven't heard of giving anyone morphine for a pelvic exam either but have heard they can be painful to get done. The wheelchair person was a young India girl, and wheeling around a middle aged 132 pound me so fast just wasn't a great idea, but nothing was damaged. I will try to sign in here as much as my surgery recovery allows, I get so bored not being able to do much right now.

Well, if I would have had insurance I might have considered one or two more days but I don't. That was a huge factor in my trying to recover more quicker too. I can imagine how crowded the hospitals will become with more people staying in them and for longer amounts of time if Barack Obama has more of us mandatorily getting our own health insurance!

Indeed having a surgery is a scary thing. My girlfriend had this open appendectomy last few days to remove her appendix. It is not really a big surgery but there is certain risk and side effects that would come with the surgery. We are not trying to prevent infection around the incision and speeding up the recovery. I just hope that she would not have so bad a irritable bowel syndrome as many appendicitis patient had mentioned.

of course we understand as that is your health nail, glad you are doing well right now. Glad no cancer for you, i do not know how hard it is to go through surgery but my mom had her uterus and ovary taken out too as she had mayoma and cysts as well..and i was with her through out the whole thing, it was really hard watching her in pain sometimes.
You should rest more and mylot will still be here when you get back, recuperate first and come back to us. Wishing you get well that fast and be healthier.

Thank goodness your mom is over with the surgery too with her mayoma and cysts. These things are a nuisance to get. And alot of women wind up getting them before they are 50. It is fairly common I am told. My aunt had had one but she never went and got it taken out, she dispises operations. After going through this one I don't blame her. I was at one point in the hospital where I was thinking I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. You're a good daughter being with your mother through the whole thing, that is what family members are for.

Seems like you just had a really bad surgery and your body is not yet recovered. You should take as much rest as possible and,do not move too much as it may damages or hurt your wound more. It would be best if you try and lie down for better rest instead of dozing off on the couch which is at least ten times not as comfortable. Hope you will get well soon and free from health issues.

Thanks squallming. I am OK. just trying to cope with things at the moment, not in alot of pain most of the time now. In the morning after I wake up more than any other time after lying down awhile. But last night I couldn't sleep well so had alot of tossing and turning, so maybe that is why I woke up feeling blah too. Yesterday I got up the same about, but it went away and went to the store briefly. I'm hoping to make a follow up appt with the dr soon although I don't really wanna go again to that clinic, it's such a long time to wait and alot to pay.

We will. You need to get some rest and I hope that you don't have to take too much pain medicine. Feel better soon and just recover. You can come back and update us as you feel better, just make sure you don't over exert yourself!

I am resting here and there, more bored at times than anything but it is to be expected. I have stopped taking as much pain meds and not taking the prescription Percoset that I have either now, I don't need it. Thanks for the warm wishes, and I won't over exert.
