Yes, I know this is not Dog Whisperer but I know there are a lot of dog lovers in here...I hope. I'm a dog lover. We have 6 dogs as of the moment but the dog I have right now, this one in particular named Winter keeps on licking me! She won't stop licking all the people in the house. I read one article that says that dogs lick to show that they love you but they way my dog licks seems like an obsession. (lol) Does anyone have any idea on how to minimize this behavior?

Give her more toys and stuff to lick like bones. Rawhide, stuff like that. Maybe some actual treats to eat. Don't yell at her or push her away because that is just going to ruin your relationship with her. You might want to contact your veterinarian just to rule out any dietary deficiencies. If she's young she will probably show down as she gets older with the licking. I had kittens who sucked on my male cat because their mother, a stray we took in with the kittens, wasn't interested in them at all. They grew out of it.

Thank you ForSouls1234...Winter isn't a pup anymore she's already two years old. Oh I have problems with her diet. She seems to get tired of food easily. Today, she'll like the treat but tomorrow she'll just ignore it. She doesn't want any of those stuff. She loves a pat on her head and a whole lot of brushing which we usually do. Maybe I will ask my Vet. I haven't tried it because I think my vet will just think I'm exaggerating with a little thing. (lol)

Oh I don't think he will think you are exaggerating and I'm sure he's heard the licking thing before ha ha. Let me know how it turns out. My one goofy cat licks our foreheads and arms sometimes until they are nearly raw ha ha.
