Are there any differences between happiness and joy? Are both possible present in a life of a person? If you are happy, is it possible you have no joy? Why?
In my opinion being happy - I just feel it in that moment or situation. However, if you are joy means you are satisfied and contented in that situation. Share to us your view about this...

Yeah Hatley litte bit not really active here. as i said later in my other response being happy is temporal or on that moment might be but joy is a feeling of long last because your joy is from within - and you are ready to face whatever situation is to come..

What most people desire is happiness and not joy. Joy resolves your problem for a shorter period of life may be just a moment. Like while playing games, you en-joy your game. You score you en-joy. You join with a community to en-joy that feeling with others. That gives you a feeling of pleasure for a moment.
What happiness means is a prolonged effect. Well human desire happiness, Rich wants love to be part of their life so they donate their goods which give love from their people, and that love stays for long, even if you die. A middle class citizen wants to pursue happiness with his hard effort, have a happy family life which is still prolonged. And finally a poor wants to have bread, shelter and clothes as their happiness which are still prolonged.

Thanks to your response... Tell me if this is correct. Im happy in the birthday party of my friend. Meaning your happy in the moment in that birthday party, then after that birthday you are lonely because you remember you have problem the tendency is happiness gone. while if you have joy because you meet in the party your friends and you share something to them even you have problem of your own. After that the tendency of being joy is still there because you are aware of that situation and you can handle it naturally..

You will not be happy for going to friend birthday, you are happy because you are meeting a dear friend. And he is happy that you came to his birthday. While you go to party to not meet friends but to have relaxing time, a fun time, means you are searching for joy. A short moment of life that will stretch your body, and back to work.

I don't know how to explain the difference between these two but if you want me to choose between joy and happiness I would prefer joy as it is long lasting. These happy and joy are both positive emotions so if we could have both that would be awesome!Overall let us be happy and joy with the life~(^^)

Both words translated in my language mean different things. The word "joy" translated means something you feel in one single moment or one single day, you feel great, full of pleasure, satisfied, pleased. It's the moment like when you had luck about something you wanted for a very long time and you have it already - this is a moment for you to feel joy.
Happiness is another thing. Happy in our language means that you are having all done the way you wanted it and you feel good because of it. General things in your life are fixed or go well and it's all so great about you that you feel only positive emotions.
For me there is difference between both things. Being full of joy because of a great moment in your life doesn't mean that all of your life is going in the direction you wanted it to go. You might feel a great joy now, when you see a small decorative, very nice, kind and sweet puppy, but when the moment pass and when you move on with your daily stuff and you see that nothing goes well, how can you be happy?

I am not sure. We always may find something which cause joy, but usually the problems pop up first instead of the happy things happening in our life.
For me joy is a moment thing, happiness is a circle of moments full of satisfaction in all of the meanings of this word.
