I like cooking and I always make some dishes for my family. But I find a strange thing that sometimes the dishes I make are so delicious that I consider myself a good housewoman, but sometimes the dishes I make are so terrible that I don't want to cook any more. I don't know why, Maybe the delicious food due to our good mood,haha...
Do you have such feelings?

Well, it probably has something to do with mood as well, but I think it is mostly in the ingredients used. It can only go bad if there's too much or too little of whatever is needed in it. You don't have to feel bad about it though as bad experiences becomes lessons to us and when this happens we learn what to do for the next time we come around and meet the same or similar thing. I have learned to cook good after going through a lot of bad ones.

Haha, I like cooking delicious dishes, but I don't like preparing the cooking raw materials. It is too tedious and trivial. I think I will make the cooking much more quickly with such help of others.

I've been cooking for a good 50 years and I still make things now and then that don't turn out right. Part of it is because I don't pay close enough attention to what I'm doing, but I don't know what the rest of the problem is!
Don't get discouraged because something you made didn't turn out right. It happens to everyone.

Yes, it is too bad to cook in the cooking fumes. I always wear mask when I do some cooking. And now I am learning to improve my cooking skill. I like putting bean sauce into the dishes. Maybe you could try some Chinese food, it is so delicious.

I took every home ec class I could in cooking. I knew I wanted children so I wanted to know how to cook. also would be in the kitchen with grandma and mother.
Once I got out on my own, I was off and running and always making something. While I had learned all mom's and grandma's recipes I found out there were new things to try that I had never eaten such as chinese, different kinds of fish, mexican. Mom and grandma were pretty much meat and potatoes people.
So I was able to broaden my cooking capabilities.
I have only had one mishap and that was on recipes.com. I followed the recipe to the letter and it required too much salt and pepper.
Otherwise it was a really good recipe. I made it again later and it turned out perfect.
I love to cook new things. It just makes you have a larger choice of how to use a meat or vegetable and turn it into other dishes.
Good Luck with your cooking. I am sure you will excel with practice.

I am not good in cooking. I have never cooked before. I don't know how to cook. How shame of me. I know time will come I will learn all these things especially when I will enter married life. I wanted to attend cooking lessons when I finish college so that I when I will travel alone I will not depend to others.

so would they say it's the mood especially if you are not measuring anything. the most important thing in cooking is that you know the measurements. most chef measure the amount of ingredients to know if it's enough or not.
cooking by feelings can sometimes cause us to forget the measurements and relay on our intuitions. in which sometimes end up disastrously.

Sometimes I make dishes delicious, sometimes I make dishes terrible because that I don't know too much seasoning, and there is always little seasoning in my dishees, so it is not delicious at all.

Sometimes we have our failures, even in the things we do better. It´s only human. I have problem with cooking (and with many other things) when my mind is somewhere else. I used to be able to do many things at the same time, but I can´t anymore. So, sometimes, I overcook something only because I went for a second somewhere ele and I forgot to keep an eye on the pot.

I agrew that mood can be a factor that will effect your judgment on the taste of food. However, that is not all. In order to cook out a taste which is consistently delicious, you have to make sure that each ingredients and seasoning are properly weighted and prepared which is placed in separate case or container. Thus, there will not be changes in what you put into the cooking utensils. The only thing that can affect the taste would be how you cook the dishes and how fresh the ingredient is.

Sometimes it really happened not just because of the mood but also about the time allotted for cooking and for the ingredients that your using. I have some experienced in the past that my cooking was very terrible because of limited time and limited ingredients and there nothing to do but to eat the food than to waste or throw it away. Until I learned my lesson, now I made to have enough time in food preparation and cooking to make my dishes delicious and cook properly, also make sure that all the ingredients are complete so that I don't need to go out and look for it.

I started cooking just recently and I admit its all hits and misses. I do believe that mood has something to do with how the dish turns out no matter what level of expertise the person has in cooking. When a person is in a very good mood while cooking, there is always something extra in it, more oomph. But if the person's heart or mind isn't really into it, the dish turns out bland. Still edible, but not really sizzling with more flavors.
